Rotary clubs worldwide mobilize in support of typhoon-ravaged Philippines  

"This disaster is exactly why we entered into our partnership with ShelterBox," said Burton. "It gives concerned Rotary members the opportunity to respond immediately and in a very meaningful way to the life-threatening conditions faced by the people of the Philippines."

Rotary International President Ron D. Burton is urging the humanitarian organization’s 1.2 million members of its 34,000 Rotary clubs worldwide to assist victims of killer Typhoon Haiyan in any way possible, including contributing to ShelterBox, the international disaster response charity that is Rotary’s project partner for disaster relief.    Read more here

A Morning Tea at Government House for Rotary.

On Thursday 28th November, His Excellency the Governor General, Lieutenant General Sir Jerry Mateparae and Lady Janine hosted a morning tea at Government House in Auckland, to thank Rotary for the work it does with ShelterBox and to inform people further about the charity and its work. The guests heard from Shelterbox response team member Arnold Kelly, who recently returned from a deployment in the Philippines, and guests were able to view a display Shelterbox. 

Approximately 100 guests from Rotary Districts 9910, 9920 and 9930 were invited to the morning tea to learn more about the work of ShelterBox and its project partnership with Rotary International.  Read more about the day

Governor General presents new Award

ShelterBox New Zealand has created an award for those clubs who have contributed 25 or more Shelterboxes.  Since the formation of ShelterBox New Zealand in 2006 by the Rotary Club of Mosgiel, The Kerikeri Rotary Club has been a most outstanding supporter of ShelterBox. 
To recognise this most generous support, His Excellency, The Governor General as Vice Regal Patron of ShelterBox New Zealand, kindly presented the first of the new awards to The Kerikeri Rotary Club President,  Martin MacPherson, during a recent Morning Tea held at Government House in Auckland.  Read more here.

ShelterBox receives Christmas present! 

Celebrities and royalty turned up to support ShelterBox at ICAP Charity Day on Tuesday, the annual fundraiser in the City of London, UK. 
ShelterBox was among the lucky 17 charities chosen to benefit from one of London’s largest annual fundraisers – ICAP Charity Day. It is a glittering pre-Christmas event where UK-based ICAP plc, a leading markets operator, donates all its revenues and commissions to charity for one special day
