Lectures & Presentations

On April 23rd I've been participating in the GDFB - Graphic Design Festival Breda, by offering a presentation during #Retweet, a series of lectures revolving around the designer's roles in society and the collective collaborative experiences. Find out more, by clicking here.

I've been invited by the "Istituto Italiano di Cultura" in Madrid and IED Madrid to take part in the event "Jornadas de Innovación en el Diseño Italiano". On May 8th, I will be meeting with the IED students from the Master of Design and Innovation and I will later offer a lecture during the evening conference, with the title The Living Lab: Fungal Futures. More information about the event could be found here.

On May 14th, I will discuss my past work and current projects and research, during the monthly "BioTalk" appointment, at Mediamatic, Amsterdam. Particularly, the focus will lie on fungi-related research and projects, which I'm currently involved in both autonomously and as in a partnership with Utrecht Universiteit and Stichting Mediamatic. More information about the evening event can be found here and here.

Invited by MAXXI (Rome - IT) to develop a conceptual luggage symbolising my condition of cultural migrant, I've been developing a new project, NASCO/STO, aiming to conceptually provoke a reflection about the need of a paradigmatic change within the design discipline, particularly the italian one.  The project will be presented along with the work of other "italian/dutch" colleagues, within the exhibition "Design Destinations", which will open its doors to the public on May 28th. More information can be found here.

'System Synthetics' will be on show at Grand Hornu (BE) within the exhibition Linking Parts, organised by Transnatural together with Grand Hornu Images. The exhibition will open on May 24th.

'The Ephemeral Icon' is currently on show at Buitenplaats Beeckenstijn, one of the few completely preserved old Dutch, large country houses. The project is presented along with other contemporary design chairs and a collection of 18th century classic chairs, until June 1st. More information can be found here
