Viceroy Riviera Maya: the most unique resort in the Riviera Maya

Built in local rustic style and aimed specially at couples, it is unique in its kind in the whole Riviera MayaIntimate in atmosphere, each villa-style accommodation not only enjoys the utmost privacy but also it’s own private plunge pool and stunning interior décor.
A visit to Viceroy Riviera Maya’s Spa is a must. From the circular design to the sage burning throughout to the Mayan-inspired spa treatments, it truly is a unique way to treat yourself to some well-deserved TLC. You also could join others in a yoga class on the luxury hotel’s own pier, sit in the temazcal (a purifying Mayan sweat lodge) or take a tequila-tasting or guacamole class.
One of the reasons behind the exquisite dining is Viceroy Riviera Maya sources, almost entirely, local product, meats and dairy for the resort’s restaurants. Choose either Coral Grill at the beach or the gastronomic La Marea, a real Mexican experience.
The staff was over the top, truly top service and nice people.

To fly to Mexico I enjoyed the new Business Class of Iberia: A flat seat to sleep like a baby and superb service.

And once in Mexico City, I enjoyed the new stylish Salón Premier of Aeromexico and flew further to Cancún with Aeromexico

Andaz Xintiandi Shanghai, a luxury boutique-inspired style

The 5 years old 28-storey hotel features 307 spacious rooms & large suites ranging from 80–740 m2 with vibrant views over Shanghai and impressive LED lighting where guests can customise the colour to suit their mood (mine the purple, of course). As in all Andaz hotels, non-alcoholic minibar drinks and snacks, local telephone calls and wifi are complimentary. Other complimentary amenities include light snacks and evening wine service at Andaz Lounge
As is the norm at Andaz hotels, there was a huge fridge across from reception with water and soft drinks, which you can help yourself to at anytime (this is in addition to the complimentary soft drinks and snacks in the rooms)
The signature restaurant Hai Pai—meaning “modern Shanghainese spirit”—a restaurant blending the traditional Shanghainese food with modern flavors that reflects the neighborhood culture and style. My suite had even a stationary bicycle in it! Loved the design and all confort around: details and needs perfectly thought and solved.
On my top in the hotel is the unique indoor swimming pool measuring with blue LED lighting adds a touch of tranquillity to this acrylic built lap pool.
