Ciasa Salares, luxury in Dolomites style

High saison in the Dolomites is the winter, and ultimate skiing! Summer is a very different experience, when mountains are the best place for unique hikes and the lifts are the easy way to reach a summit and enjoy a stunning landscape. The Trentino-Alto Adige region bordering Austria & Switzerland features Italy's most stunning topography. The heart of Alta Badia was my destination.

Thanks to Hotel Ciasa Salares I have learnt a lot about the region, specially about "Ladins", an ethnic minority of rhaetic origins who have maintained their own language, identity and culture. Read more in the blog of the hotel.
All of the 50 rooms in this gem of a family hotel are simply furnished using a blend of arolla pine, fir tree & larch with unfussy bathrooms. But its the views that are the real "wow" factor. Run by the same family since the 1960s, warm & welcoming hospitality are in no short supply and guests feel even better than at home. And a perfect location: a stone's throw from the pretty town of San Cassiano & just two minutes walking from the slopes.
The choice of restaurants at the Ciasa Salares is a treat in itself, this is a truly destination for real foodies!

Capella Singapore, heritage & modern vibe in Sentosa

Located in Sentosa island, Capella Singapore is the perfect hotel for romantic staycation for Singaporeans, and the idillic holidays resort for foreigners. The main building is a colonial style, dating back to the late 1800s when it was originally used as barracks and common area for members of the British military and their families. Today, the building houses the main lobby and other key facilities ssuch as The Library - a beautiful guest-only space stocked with reading materials and the exclusive location for afternoon tea-.
Capella Singapore’s adjacent contemporary building, with its uniquely curved architecture and open-air spaces, is its stunning juxtaposition.
The beautiful 112 suites have an urban vibe with and Indonesian style. Mine was the Sentosa Suite -86m2 of design space & views overlooking to the South China Sea-.
The food is outstanding with a really generous breakfast buffet, and an unforgettable gastronomic experience in Cassia, the Cantonese Restaurant (book Chef Lee's signature set menú). My suggestion: Experience the new dining concept by Chef David Senia, the French Director of Culinary.
My favorite parts of the hotel are the lush gardens, tree-shaded, infinity pools and the Auriga Spa, focused on health & wellness and using just organic products.

To arrive to Singapore I chose Singapore Airlines with a direct flight from Barcelona and a perfect service. Unbeatable.

#sleepinginmyowncity Monument Hotel, style & luxe in the heart of Barcelona

The newest Preferred Hotel in Barcelona is located in the charming Passeig de Gràcia, Monument Hotel opened its doors last March. It is an architectural jewel from 1.896, in a stunning neo-Gothic palace. Monument Hotel offers a mix of different styles: the existing pre-modernist one and the one being introduced now, based on a contemporary style which is reminiscent of an industrial and urban style. It features 84 exclusive rooms ranging from 24m2 to 85m2. A nice small spa & a pool with restaurant in the rooftop (soon to open) complete this luxury hotel.
The hotel is a foodie destination per se: Gastronomy has the seal of Martín Berasategui & cocktails by Javier de las Muelas. The Restaurant Lasarte lead by Chef Paolo Casagrande has 2 Michelin Stars; Restaurant Oria restaurant offers a Mediterranean cuisine which I truly enjoyed so much.

For my transportation to and from the Barcelona airport I always use Abaser Barcelona, my preferred limousine service in town.
