Since the 1960s, more than 26,000 individuals have studied in Denmark on Danida fellowships. The professional and personal experience leave a lasting sense of goodwill towards Denmark and the Danes.
Danida alumni are powerful ambassadors for the merits of Danish know-how 
I always say that Danida alumni are like ambassadors for Denmark.They speak extremely well about Denmark. I do the same, but people know I get paid for it, says Lars Steen Nielsen, Denmark’s ambassador to Mexico. He would like to see the alumni network become a global knowledge sharing platform in the future.

Connected by a passion for reproductive and public health
They are driven and ambitious, they are outstanding academics and they are deeply concerned about public and reproductive health. Despite being more than 10,000 kilometres apart, Professor Tine Gammeltoft and Danida alum Dr Thi Thuy Hanh Nguyen’s lives and careers are deeply intertwined.

From Hirtshals to Morogoro, John Kinyage has been improving aquaculture 
Danida’s programme, Building Stronger Universities, became Danida alum John Kinyage’s ticket to pursue his career goals. First, he did his MSc at DTU Aqua, and then he became a scientific assistant. Now his expertise has put him in the lead team that is developing Tanzania’s 10 year National Investment Plan for Aquaculture and Fisheries.
