News from the Project
Introducing the #ENRIITCyourCoffee Series!
You are invited to take part in our new series of mini-webinars #ENRIITCyourCoffee: Season 1! This series will build on the topics from our 1st Networking Meeting and will consist of quick, 20-minute sessions where members of the ENRIITC community can join together virtually as a way to network, learn, collaborate and stay connected with one another. Each session will cover one specific topic briefly introduced by the host, followed by an open discussion with the participants.
 
Episode 1: “How ICOs and ILOs can collaborate: the ILO perspective” will be led by Gerard Cornet, Coordinator of the Network of Industry Liaison Officers in the Netherlands, and will take place on 17 November from 11:00 – 11:20 CET. Read more and register here

We have now officially launched the ENRIITC LinkedIn group! This has been created as an exclusive space for YOU and the other members of our Network to stay connected, build on conversations started during the Networking Meeting, meet new members, exchange contact information and more. Discussions from the #ENRIITCyourCoffee series will also be continued in the group. Make sure to join here

Who is ENRIITC? 
ENRIITC is made up of 11 consortium partners and more than 60 associate partners, making it a very broad and diverse Network. To better understand who is involved in the Network and what collaboration opportunities are available, we will be slowly introducing our partners in this section. We have already introduced the consortium in the previous newsletters and are now presenting the Associates!

EMPHASIS

EMPHASIS is a pan-European, distributed plant phenotyping infrastructure. EMPHASIS will focus on developing and enabling access to plant phenotyping infrastructure and providing services essential for the analysis of crop performance with respect to structure, function, quality and interaction with the environment. It will thus support the exploitation of crop genetic diversity required for the enhancement of plant productivity and progress in plant breeding. By addressing the technological and organisational limitations of European plant phenotyping, EMPHASIS aims to promote future food security and agricultural business in a changing climate
Sven Fahrner and Roland Pieruschka are responsible for business plan development and for coordination of EMPHASIS preparatory and implementation activities.

Prof. Dr. Ulrich Schurr, Director of IBG-2 and coordinator of EMPHASIS, is a plant physiologist by training, and has a focus of his work in plant performance in the environment and the development of novel applications of plant use in bioeconomy for food/ feed, materials, chemicals and energy. Read more about Sven, Pieruschka, and Ulrich here

2nd RTO Innovation Summit


How can we foster and maintain Europe’s competitiveness, sustainability and technological leadership in the Digital Age? Which technologies will make the European Green Deal a success? ENRIITC partners CEA and DTI, along with 8 other leading European European Research and Technology Organisations (RTO), invite you to look to solutions from applied research and innovation and join them in discussing how to solve the greatest challenges of our time. Europe Biobank Week 2020


This year’s edition of Europe Biobank Week 2020 will roll out completely online, creating new opportunities to attend sessions and fully enjoy all the great scientific insights from speakers and panellists. At the same time, it will keep allowing biobanking professionals to discuss, engage, share knowledge and best practices, as in a traditional edition of EBW. Read more and register here!

Connecting industrial R&D staff to state-of-the-art neutron methods 


In the frame of the H2020 project ACCELERATE, a series of webinars focused on state-of-the-art neutron methods are being held since October 2020. This series of webinars is facilitated by experts from the European Spallation Source ERIC, with the aim of bringing together researchers from industry as well as R&D staff from both academia and industry to exchange knowledge and expertise. Professor Yamamoto joins IFIC


The University of Valencia has awarded the position of “visiting researcher” to professor Hitoshi Yamamoto of Tohoku University in Japan. Prof. Yamamoto will work together with scientist of ENRIITC Associate IFIC and the University during his stay in Valencia. His work will contribute to strengthen the European science and industry links and participation on the ILC, one of the world's most relevant research facilities for the near future. Read more here
