This year we will be exploring a new Hoopsisters concept called Sisterhood Retreats. This is a series of three smaller projects (one large and two smaller designs) done in the hoop. Each month you will receive the software for the embroidery designs for that class’s three projects with a different theme each class. In class, we will embroider only one of the designs. You will then be able to complete the others at your leisure.

We will begin with simple projects for ladies wanting to learn more about their embroidery machine. Learn how to embroider names and designs on towels, placement of designs on garments and other simple projects. This class will lead into the advanced Hoopsister projects which requires experience in embroidery.

Jane is an experienced teacher of machine embroidery and patchwork. She has been published in numerous patchwork and embroidery magazines. She will be show casing her newest embroidery collections, “The Grace Collection” and “1, 2 Counting With You” as well as some of her patchwork patterns. All of these will be available to order on the day. We are excited to have Jane in our store and look forward to using her patterns in future classes. Embroidery club will be using “The Grace Collection” later in the year and we will also do some classes using her patchwork patterns if we have sufficient interest.

"Quilt As You Go Methods"
For 2019, we will learn "quilt as you go" methods using lots of stitches,the walking foot, darning feet, guides, pressures, stencils and rulers as well as learning different joining methods. Applique will also be used. Choose your colour backgrounds and applique of your choice eg different flowers, leaves, shoes, birds, etc. They can all be different or all the same. Make as many blocks as you need. All samples are 19" x 20" in size. This will be a fun class as you learn something new every month.
