Proposal Writing Tools For Success Class

Would you like to improvement your proposal writing process? Learn how to increase the likelihood of winning by 43%, write 50% faster, and save time and money with clear, compelling graphics. (No design skills needed!) This class provides attendees the skills and tools necessary to respond convincingly to an RFP or task order requirement. The focus is on understanding what government evaluators want to see, structuring the response so that they find it easily and find what they read to be both compliant and compelling. It will also cover the top five reasons for failure, how to prepare for oral presentations, and how to request and prepare for a debrief.

  • Providing evidence of Significant Strengths, the precise elements that the Federal Government will look for and assess during the formal evaluation of your proposal
  • Constructing compelling “Understanding” and “Approach” sections of your proposal to achieve a maximum score
  • Generating key conceptual graphics early in the proposal development life-cycle to help guide your thinking and writing
  • Writing proposal sections effectively and efficiently – with clear focus on tangible and intangible benefits to the customer’s mission and evolving business requirements
  • Addressing both stated and unstated customer requirements and expectations in your proposal document to offer those critical elements that are being sought
  • Crafting compelling, fact-based proposal stories that resonate with the evaluators during source selection
  • Implementing proven proposal production and publication scenarios – balancing process versus content issues
  • Applying innovative Knowledge Management (KM) processes and tools to proposal development to save time and money as well as leverage “what you know”s

Have you considered if the federal budget cuts might present a crisis — or maybe even an opportunity — for your business?

Yes, the federal budget has been cut and we will see reductions across the board in civilian, defense and intelligence agencies’ contractor spending throughout 2014. With at least a 10% sequestration plan, every program is feeling the knife, with only a select few, such as the Department of Veterans Affairs, totally exempted.

However, this does not mean that there is no spending. The annual federal contracting budget will remain at more than $500 billion, even with budget cuts. Northrop Grumman, Boeing, Lockheed Martin and the rest of the top 20 federal contractors will indeed be cut deeply by the reductions, and your neighbors, even you, may fear the loss of a job as a result.

3 Steps for Tailoring Your Capability Statement

As a marketing resource, capability statements are used to showcase what your business is able to do for your audience. By tailoring your Capability Statement, you display knowledge and professionalism and help differentiate yourself from the competition.

Capability Statements are living documents, and they work best when you’re able to quickly and effectively tailor them to the opportunity, agency, or prime contractor you are pursuing. This shows that you are not only capable of the work being asked, but you’re savvy enough to do the homework and research necessary to be successful.

1. Use Their Language

Use the language from the procurement itself instead of your own internal way of describing products and services. This will show that you are absolutely able to perform the work needed as asked. Taking this extra step when crafting your Capability Statement will also help set it apart when these terms are searched for by decision-makers.

In the course of conducting public opinion surveys and demographic analyses, the Pew Research Center found a wide range of data milestones, breakthroughs, peaks and valleys in 2013. One interesting fact to note is the share of Americans saying they do not want their own representative in Congress reelected – 38% – is at its highest point in two decades.
