Yes, we are having Worship this Sunday, March 15
By now each and every one of you have experienced the concern and often strange-seeming situations surrounding the community response to Covid-19. No matter what your opinion on the matter is, there are certain realities we have been given and we need to make the best decisions we can under less-than-normal conditions. So, having said all that…
First, we will be having worship and Sunday School as usual this Sunday! I know that many churches have made a different decision and I cannot say today what things will look like next week or beyond, but for this Sunday, we will be here to celebrate our Lord and Savior. With that in mind, let me offer a few thoughts that might help you in making a decision about whether to attend.
- If you are sick…with anything…please stay home. Sickness that could be Covid-19 is not the only problem. If you are sick with something else, your immune system will be compromised, so please do not come to church.
- If you are in one of the higher at-risk groups (The CDC says that is older people and people with chronic health problems such as Heart Disease, Diabetes or Lung Disease) please feel free to stay at home if you think you should
- If you plan to be here Sunday, please wash your hands thoroughly before coming and anytime you are near a sink here! Bring your hand-sanitizer with you if you have some, as that is hard to come by these days…you might have noticed that!
- Also, we are asking that everyone refrain from physical contact as much as possible. Try not to shake hands, hug, etc. Keep your hands in your pockets or behind your back if you need to as a reminder. And please… even if you think this is all very silly, honor the wishes and space of others who might want to be more careful!
We are currently working on a way to use Facebook Live to livestream our services. That might not be up by this Sunday, but we are working on it! If we have it ready to go, I will follow this with another contact telling you how to find it.
Church Council is meeting right after church on Sunday and we will be discussing strategies moving forward. Please stay tuned to the church Facebook page or emails from us that will let you know what is going on up here.
One final note that is very important. Please continue to be faithful in your giving, even if you are unable to be here on Sunday morning. There are online giving options on our website or you can set us up as a bill-pay through your online banking program. Or you can mail your gift or bring it by the church office during the week. Even if we have some events canceled or postponed, many of them have already been paid for and our work still continues. Your support is needed and appreciated.
Please feel free to pass this message on. Forward it, share it, call people…whatever you desire. I look forward to worshipping with you this Sunday, either in person or in prayer in separate places!
