For over 40 years, World Relief has welcomed, advocated for and helped integrate over 400,000 immigrants in vulnerable situations to communities all across our nation. Our work is informed by the belief that immigrants have an important place in our community and are vital to the success and flourishing of our nation, as well as to our national character.

Now, as the refugee cap increases to 125,000, we enter into a new moment in America. One in which we urgently need your help to rebuild our capacity to welcome, love and support these brave families. That’s why we want to give you the opportunity to join us in restoring hope and rebuilding communities of welcome all across our nation!

Along with volunteering and advocacy, giving is vital for our ability to create a welcoming and caring community within the Triad. Would you consider donating monthly or providing a one-time gift to our office?
Your generosity makes a transformative and lifelong impact for those we serve. Together, we can help our newest neighbors flourish in our community.

Presidential Determination Update
We are still celebrating!! Just over two weeks after announcing it would keep the historically low refugee ceiling of 15,000, the Biden Administration announced it would be setting a new presidential determination of 62,500 for the fiscal year (article here). Your advocacy made a difference!

This happened thanks to bold, compassionate people like you: volunteers, churches, refugees and refugee advocates. Together, we urged President Biden to keep his promise to refugees across the globe, and he changed course.

This new PD is a necessary first step toward rebuilding the refugee resettlement program and restoring a spirit of welcome in the United States. Thank you for advocating with us!

"Compassionate Action for Vulnerable Children"
Triad Mission Services Director, Jonathan Musser, and Matt Soerens have been working together to encourage local pastors to submit an Op-Ed piece to a local newspaper that would present a biblically based view of immigration as well as advocate for a bi-partisan solution to immigration reform. There was a great response from a diverse collection of pastors in the area who are interested in contributing their voice to speak into this vital topic. A few weeks ago, the first result of this effort came to fruition and Rev. Chantal Morales McKinney’s piece was published in the Winston-Salem Journal. Chantal is the lead pastor at The Beloved Community/Comunidad Amada De Christo. Let’s keep striving together to make the Triad a more welcoming place!

A great way to partner with WR Triad is by praying with and for us! Will you join us by praying for our community in these ways?
  • For the new neighbors we'll welcome this year as refugee arrivals increase, that we would prepare welcoming hearts and spaces for them, and that they would experience healing and a new sense of home
  • For perseverance and provision in our community as we continue to face the challenges of coronavirus
  • For continued growth in partnerships with local churches, that God's call for individuals and churches to be the hands and feet of Jesus in the Triad would be heard and joyfully anwered
  • For our staff as we plan for what's to come this year and continually seek to serve our neighbors better
  • For our leaders and governing officials to have wisdom and compassion as we continue to navigate changing circumstances and pressing needs
"Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving."
- Colossians 4:2
