Restoring lives, uplifting Triad communities.
Even in challenging times, we continue to serve refugees, immigrants, survivors of human trafficking, and our welcoming community here in the Triad. We want to keep you informed of what we've been up to and how you can get involved. We're grateful for your support as we continue to serve together!

World Relief Triad Continues to Serve Our Community
Our team is committed to serving our clients and community in impactful ways that help provide both safety and support. While we are taking recommended and wise precautions, we are still here, we are still working, and we are still standing with the vulnerable. For the latest updates, information, and resources (including multi-lingual COVID-19 resources), visit our website here >>

Community Garden: Spring is in the Air
Earlier this month, Triad Tree and Lawn Care helped us get our Community Garden ready for spring. They removed kudzu and more, making way for a fresh, strong start this spring. We're excited for the return of our hard-working gardeners and to see all that our garden produces this season - both in produce and cross-cultural friendship. Want to learn more about our garden? Visit the garden Facebook page here >>

Second Sundays Create Friendship and Fun
Our ministry partners at Summit Church Kernersville kicked off this year with a new, monthly event to bring together World Relief clients and Summit volunteers. So far, they've gone bowling and hosted a game night. We've already seen new friendships start to grow as both clients and volunteers embrace new experiences.
If your church is interested in partnering with us, email us at triadvc@wr.org.

Celebrating Women as Image Bearers of God
March is Women's History Month, and World Relief is committed to gender equality in the U.S. and globally. We believe that gender equality is a matter of both justice and stewardship - that we are more just and better equipped to fulfill our mission when we embrace the gifts, passions, and experiences of women and men equally. To learn what this commitment looks like in action, read more from WR leadership here >>

A Spirit of Power, Love, and Sound Mind: World Relief Leadership Responds to COVID-19
Tim Breene and Scott Arbeiter, World Relief CEO and President, offer guidance and encouragement as we navigate this challenging time. They call upon the Church to be wise but to continue to fulfill its mission to care for the vulnerable. Read more about how World Relief is responding here >>

In the midst of this challenge, our team is committed to providing excellent care to our refugee, immigrant, and survivor neighbors, as well as to our community who welcomes them. By partnering with us financially, we can sustain vital services and meet the urgent needs amidst the COVID-19 crisis together. Thank you for standing with us in this time!
MAKE A DONATION
In person volunteer programs are currently suspended, but we're looking to the future and preparing to continue to be a community of welcome!
High Point Good Neighbor Teams
Ongoing/Flexible Schedule
We're expecting arrivals in High Point once travel resumes, and we'd love to pair them with a Good Neighbor Team (GNT)! GNTs are groups of 5-12 people who partner with a refugee or immigrant family for a minimum of 6 months to help the family integrate into their new community and develop lasting friendships. If you're part of a group that would like to become a GNT, please email triadvc@wr.org.
Youth Mentoring
High Point | Mondays | 4-5:30pm
We're in search of individuals interested in mentoring high school students. Mentors help students develop realistic plans to attain the students' goals and may also provide academic tutoring. Although our Monday gatherings are currently suspended, we'd love to start back with even more mentors! To get connected with our youth mentoring program, email us at triadvc@wr.org

Have you logged your volunteer hours?
As we experience the suspension of in-person volunteer programs, it's more important than ever to log the hours you've already served. Your hours help us raise a cash match required by certain grants, as well as advocate for even more opportunities to bring our community together and empower others. A volunteer hour is currently valued at $25.43, so every hour logged counts! By logging your hours - especially now - you're helping us ensure that we can serve more people in more ways. Thank you!
LOG HOURS HERE!
A great way to partner with WR Triad is by praying with and for us! In this challenging time, there's much more to pray for than will fit in a newsletter. But here are just a few areas we're praying over.
  • Our clients, WR staff across the country, volunteers, and our communities as we find creative and innovative ways to stand with one another and continue to serve each other well
  • Freedom from anxiety for those facing job insecurity, disruptions in education, uncertainty in childcare, isolation, and lack of critical meals provided by schools and care facilities. Also for peace and comfort for refugees whose family members are now delayed in reuniting with them due to travel restrictions
  • Health and protection for those who are more vulnerable to illness or have limited access to healthcare both here in the U.S. and across the world, including those in detention facilities and refugee camps
  • Wisdom and protection for health workers and service providers who continue to meet vital needs of the vulnerable in their communities
  • The Future - that, rather than losing hope, we would have a greater sense of commitment to our neighbors which would inspire newer and stronger programs and opportunities that bring our community together across cultures
"Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer." - Romans 12:12
The Power of Your Voice
Evangelical Immigration Table: Call for Restitution-Based Immigration Reform

In a time where it often feels like the topic of immigration reform can be polarizing, Evangelical Immigration Table has partnered with World Relief and other like-minded organizations to help support humane and biblically driven policy in our country. Help us support immigration reform by quickly adding your name to this Immigration Reform Petition >>

Tip of the Month
Our international neighbors come from many faith backgrounds. Understanding their beliefs and worldviews can open doors to deeper conversation and closer friendship, even opportunities to share your own faith. The best way to learn is to ask! To peak your curiosity, we've provided some basics on Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam, and Judaism in our toolkit here >>

Thank you for everything you do to support World Relief, to love and serve our clients, and to advocate for the vulnerable populations in our communities and around the world.
