First MOVE Congress 2019 speakers confirmed

Who can you meet at the MOVE Congress on 16-18 October 2019 in Budapest? Last week we revealed our first confirmed speakers and an Extreme Early Bird deal you don't want to miss.

ISCA North America Chair leads US programme I Can Do It!

ISCA North America Chair Dr Jayne Greenberg is leading a new programme for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to get more youth with disabilities involved in more sport and physical activity. The I Can Do It! programme (ICDI) is a voluntary school-based physical activity programme designed to provide access, facilitate, and encourage opportunities for students with disabilities to be physically active for 60 minutes a day.

New step-by-step videos make European Fitness Badge tests easy

Accurately measuring one’s fitness level may not seem like a simple task, but it is now with a step-by-step video playlist from ISCA member and European Fitness Badge partner the German Gymnastics Federation (DTB). DTB has released a playlist as a part of the EU-supported European Fitness Badge project, featuring 10 how-to videos of exercises that can help instructors assess the fitness levels of their participants.

New advocacy video from our Integration of Refugees through Sport partners urges our sector to create positive and welcoming environments using sport and physical activity as a valuable tool.

WHO physical activity recommendations set for an update

The World Health Organisation’s Global Recommendations on Physical Activity in Youth, Adults and Older Adults are a key tool for physical activity advocates, and now they are set for their first update since 2010. The WHO is calling for expressions of interest to take part in its WHO Guideline Development Group, which will advise on the content.

MOVE Congress inspiration becomes reality as GAME Malta opens

A journey that started in 2015 at ISCA’s MOVE Congress in Denmark has now set sail in Malta! ISCA member MOVEMalta joined forces with the internationally renowned Danish NGO GAME after the two organisations’ founders met at the congress at GAME’s headquarters in Copenhagen, and secured an Erasmus+ Collaborative Partnerships grant in 2017 to establish a GAME street sport facility in Malta.

Sesc 24 de Maio wins Building of the Year Award

ISCA member Sesc São Paulo has received an award in the Public Architecture category for its innovative headquarters Sesc 24 de Maio. Last year, NowWeMOVE campaign manager Laska Nenova visited the remarkable building that is “built for people” and with the ArchDaily award it gains international recognition.

Mondiali Antirazzisti initiative starts a "new chapter"

After 22 years, thousands of smiling faces, and hundreds of different cultures taking part, UISP’s Mondiali Antirazzisti initiative is branching out across Italy. This year, UISP will stage a series of special Mondiali Antirazzisti events, including a “surprise event” planned to take place during the July time frame previously dedicated to the Mondiali Antirazzisti festival.
