Halfway already and "it's too much fun to stop!"

Today we reached the halfway mark of MOVE Week 2014. So far it has exceeded all our expectations in terms of the number of events and MOVE Agents registered. We are now are up to a staggering 3839 events and 2216 MOVE Agents and events are still popping up every day.

With 14 countries offering over 100 events, and some over 400, there are plenty of opportunities to get involved and find your MOVE. Soon you'll find that it's too much fun to stop!

Muuvit part of MOVE Week again

Continuing last year’s successful collaboration between Europe’s biggest community sports event and the international platform that combines health with learning was an obvious MOVE. Read more

MOVE Week starts from the air!

In perfect autumn weather with the MOVE Week Flash Mob in the foreground, the National Coordinator of Turkey, Feridun Ekmekci, was paragliding in the sky over Oludeniz, Fethiye, waving MOVE Week flags in the air. This extraordinary and adrenaline pumping start to MOVE Week in Turkey was hosted by several public authorities and more than 300 people attended the ceremony.

MOVING the Ministries

This year 16 municipalities from Cyprus, Greece, France, Hungary, Italy, Macedonia, Belgium, Bulgaria and Croatia have backed MOVE Week 2014. Engaging in physical activity together with the MOVE Agents, they have proven that a formal workplace is not closed to exercising and staying healthy.

Malta set to Walk the Towers

As the most built-up country in the EU, Malta's challenge is to create active spaces that encourage its citizens to MOVE. Malta’s MOVE Week National Coordinator Kunsill Malti Għall-Isport, in collaboration with Valletta 2018 Foundation in Aid of the Community Chest Fund, is taking a creative approach to MOVE Week that uses some of its most famous buildings as ‘stepping stones’.

Macedonia makes a unique start

It started with an event that may be a traditional form of physical activity in Macedonia, but is well and truly an innovative concept when it comes to MOVE Week: the annual apple picking festival in Resen (Prespa jabolkober).

Reverend opens MOVE Week

MOVE Week 2013 award winning municipality Fljótsdalshérað in the east of Iceland kicked off MOVE Week 2014 in Iceland with a unique ceremony featuring the local reverend from Egilsstaðir’s church. Reverend Þorgeir Arason donned Iceland’s MOVE Week buff and the trademark bright orange t-shirt to officially open MOVE Week in the country.
