We celebrate the 10th MOVE Week and the first European Mile!

This week we're celebrating the 10th edition of MOVE Week (31 May-6 June). Like last year, the week will include a great mix of physical events and online workouts. On 5 June, we are also celebrating the European Mile – so join us for a pulse-raising week! 

MOVE Week Gym
MOVE Agents – sport, dance and fitness instructors – from 13 countries are uniting their efforts to deliver online live workouts every day during MOVE Week. Live sessions will be streamed on the NowWeMOVE Facebook page. See the schedule here.

MOVE Week Events
Find an event in your country at Every MOVE Counts on every continent and this year our member Sesc in Brazil is also hosting a 20-minute online running class supported by Olympic 800m gold medallist Maria Mutola from Mozambique at 10AM Brazilian time on 5 June on Facebook and YouTube.

European Mile
This year two of ISCA’s events are coinciding – MOVE Week and the brand new European Mile. European Mile is a free event celebrating the joy of moving again at your own pace – by running, walking or rolling a mile. You can take part by:

ISCA Awards 2021

Win a trip to Brussels and €3000

Four new ISCA Awards will be presented at the MOVE Congress in 2021 to recognise organisations and individuals who have delivered good practices in the Integration of Refugees Through Sport (IRTS). ISCA to present unique concept at Portuguese Presidency

This week’s conference hosted by the Portuguese Presidency of the Council of the European Union ‘Can sport diplomacy contribute to building a stronger Europe in the world?’ on 3-4 June has as one of its objectives to showcase ISCA’s unique concept of Grassroots Sport Diplomacy. Registration is still open and ISCA will feature in sessions 3 and 4 this Friday.

Webinar 23 June
Step up with refugees!

Our 3rd virtual networking webinar is coming up on Wednesday 23 June from 13.00-14.30 CEST on the topic 'Step up with refugees!' Our guest speaker will be member of the EU Commission Expert Group on migration, asylum and integration Adnan Abdul Ghani, a refugee from Syria who started a movement to train refugees to lead community activities, to share his expertise.

Global Design Challenge back with grant pool of €10,000

On 7 June 2021, the second Global Design Challenge for Sport and Physical Activity will be launched by University College Cork, along with Irish and International partners such as UNESCO and ISCA, and sponsor Sport Ireland. Development Grants of up to €10,000 will be on offer for the best ideas, and mentors and partner organisations.

Move For Fun pilots set to start in UK and Poland

Two ISCA members are set to roll out a successful Danish initiative for vulnerable children in Poland and the UK in the second half of 2021 in a new international partnership pilot led by ISCA, our Danish member DGI and Novo Nordisk. Move For Fun is based on a concept developed by DGI called Jump4Fun.
