A comprehensive new study published by the Public Library of Science finds that 20% of Earth's natural remaining ecosystems risk conversion to development over the next 35 years to meet the needs of the UN's projected 9.6 billion people by 2050.To highlight risk, researchers mapped the potential impact human growth will have on natural lands if development is left unchecked.

Timing of Access to Abortion Pill Still Uncertain in Canada
Although medication to terminate pregnancy within the first 49 days of gestation was approved by Health Canada last year, the the latest news PIC can find suggests that no decision has yet been made on when the "abortion pill," RU-486, will be available in Canada.
