2019 Advanced class Atlanta will held on March 4 - 8 and please reserve your seat as it is approaching fast!

Hello! <<First Name>> <<Last Name>>

Advanced Class introduces more challenging designs to all students who have completed the first ten phases. At the present time, it is the highest level attainable to students of Japanese embroidery.

We are excited to announce to you about 2019 Advanced Class “Reminiscence of Battle” which will be held from March 4 - 8 at JEC in Atlanta. Please take this opportunity to reserve your seat.
The motif is called Gunbai, or “war fan” which is a fan-like device used by samurai commanders to direct troops during battle maneuvers, and as a symbol of rank.

From old days, this motif is used for ladies’ kimono and obi to wish for guidance during the ordeals and turning points of life. May the wearers be successful and achieve their aspirations.

For the each design, there will be JEC color with line AND line only transfer. The choice is completely depended on your preference.

If you would like to select fabric with line drawing only design on Uchikake - Silver w/ gold dust, please select "Uchikake - Silver w/ gold dust".
If you would like to select fabric with JEC color AND line drawing, on Uchikake - Silver w/ gold dust, please select "Uchikake - Silver w/ gold dust - With color".

After you selected the fabric, you can see the enlargement by moving the cursor over the image.

C19-03 Reminiscence of Battle (Back obi only)

I hope this class will provide a good opportunity to deepen the significance and experiment the techniques used for this particular design. Very importantly, we wish to honor each stitcher for her/his accumulated endeavors in life.

Or You Can Bring Your Own Project

Do you have a challenging project that you always hoped to tackle or an appealing project in your stash? This is the perfect time to work on it!
You will also be able to start on your Fractal Project piece, which is growing in numbers and it will be exhibited in Nuido World Exhibition 2020 in Tokyo

We are very honored and thrilled to share this traditional, yet innovative design.

Gold leaf demonstration

To seek for the possibility of gold leaf for Japanese embroidery, I'm hoping to hold an informal demonstration for those who are interested. Gold leaf demo will be like an extra workshop outside of class. This activity will done by Arata Tamura which is operated outside of JEC's scope in order to follow its policy.

I'm hoping that you will discover the way to enhance Japanese embroidery with application of gold leaf.

We would be appreciated if you can show your interest from URL below:
