Tuition Savings: Out-of-State Degrees, In-State Rates
Across the South, high school seniors and their parents are deciding where they can afford college in the fall.  Many will save through SREB’s Academic Common Market, which lets families avoid out-of-state tuition for almost 2,000 undergraduate and graduate degree programs not available in students' home states. Louisiana Toolbox Helps Teachers Get Students Ready
Sample teaching plans and videos of great teaching are among the extensive online resources in Louisiana’s Teacher Support Toolbox. Louisiana is a leading state in helping schools use high-quality classroom resources aligned to its college- and career-readiness standards, according to SREB’s study of how states are implementing standards.

Teacher-leaders collaborate with the Louisiana Department of Education to create and vet the tools. They receive intensive professional learning so they can help other teachers in their schools find and develop materials that align with their Common Core standards. The SREB report notes that Louisiana's tools are comprehensive, with a bank of formative assessment items, remediation strategies and other resources that cover English and math for an entire year for every grade.
