COVID-19 Coronavirus update 6-3-2020
Upper Harbour Primary continues to follow the directions of the Ministries of Health and Education. We are also following the procedures of our school Pandemic Plan. We have taught our children how to thoroughly wash their hands and remind them to do so before eating and after visiting the toilet. Teachers are emphasising the importance of children keeping their hands away from their faces and how to cough/sneeze into their elbow.
At this time we are implementing a heightened level of cleaning service. I have instructed our cleaning company to conduct a full sanitising clean of the school over this weekend and we will be using appropriate products to clean hard surfaces etc. on a daily basis.
At UHPS we care very much about the health and wellbeing of our children. We are confident in the directions being provided by the Ministries of Health and Education and are doing our best to provide a safe environment.
I am aware that many families are keeping their children at home as a precaution. This is a choice that each family will make, however it is not a directive from the Ministry of Health at this time. Children who do not fit the government’s current criteria for self-isolation will be marked as Explained Unjustified on the school roll.
