This Week’s Welcome
Tena koutou katoa,
Since our last newsletter we have had a very successful Senior Swimming Sports Day. A huge thanks goes out to those parents who were able to help on the day and make sure that everything went smoothly. We were very fortunate with the weather and grateful to Coatesville Primary for hosting us.
Our Library/Paua Pod refurbishment will continue next week, with the installation of reading nooks and other fittings.
If you’ve popped into the office recently you may have been greeted by our newest staff member. Stephanie Browning is working ‘front of house’ for us and learning the ropes very quickly.
We are having our first “Let’s Talk” parent evening for 2019 tomorrow. Come along from 7-9pm to hear more about our vision, values and Upper Harbour Me competencies. We will also have Jo Robson (an educational expert and adviser) joining us for the evening.
Thank you so much to those families who have made their donation to the school for 2019. These extra funds provide the financial stability to make all sorts of things possible, such as in-class support, specific learning programmes and much-needed equipment. Please remember that you are welcome to spread the donation through the year if this works better for your family.
Smart watches and phones
All smart watches e.g. Spark Spacetalk, and phones must be handed in to the office in the morning and picked up at the end of the day, even if they are set to ‘school mode’. Your child’s phone/watch will be locked in the school safe for safekeeping. These devices are not only valuable but still have the potential to be a distraction to learning. It is very important that if you need to get a message to your child during school time, it goes through the school office.
We would like to thank the Thynne and Bostock Families, Ethan Green, William Turner, Anna Shao, Jasper Huang, Carlos Li, Dylan Reader and Amy & Claire Van Zyl who have kindly donated new books to our school library. It is very important for our young readers to have access to a selection of books to help them learn through reading. Your generosity is greatly appreciated. We accept donations of both new and pre-loved books. Just drop them off to the office, making sure to include your name.
Thank you to families who have kindly donated sand pit toys to the school.
Registrations for year 3-6 players close on Friday 15th March. For more information and to register click here.
