This Week’s Welcome

Tena koutou katoa,

The Kiss and Drop seems to feature a constant procession of buses at the moment. Classes are being ferried back and forth for swimming lessons, the senior children have gone to Beach Education Days, Kids for Kids choir went to a rehearsal and so did the APPA choir. The Kapa Haka group travelled to the Onepoto Festival and soon it will be the turn of our older athletes to represent the school at the Super Cluster Tournament. Bearing in mind that one of our school’s strategic goals is to ensure all learners leave Upper Harbour having experienced challenge and success through a rich curriculum, I think we’re doing pretty well!

There’s no way that all these things could happen though, without our families and community helping out. If you’ve been one of those helpers this term - thank you so much. We were recently scrambling to get enough helpers for the Beach Education Days and I’d like to acknowledge aPlus for providing some of their staff to come along. We even had our staff family members put their hands up.

I’m going to let a little cat out of the bag for you to get excited about - we will be staging another whole school production on Wednesday 2nd September next year, at the Bruce Mason Centre!

It’s a hectic time of the year and so easy to become a bit frazzled. Be patient with one another, be patient around the carparks and enjoy the sunshine :)

Notices

2020 Uniform

If you would like your child to have a new uniform for the start of 2020, we suggest that you place an order now. You can order on our school website shop.

Please note that we are unable to hold large amounts of uniform stock, and therefore unable to guarantee that we can sell uniform from the shelf at the start of the school year.

Readers Stocktake

It is that time of the year again, where we stocktake all the readers in the school resource room.  If you have a spare hour or more on the morning of Tuesday 3rd December between 9.00-12.00 we would appreciate your help.  Please see Paula Webster in the resource room (next to the school library) on Tuesday morning of the stocktake or contact me at pwebster@upperharbour.school.nz.  Thank you
