HOA Documents Need to Determine Deadline for Acceptance of Board Candidates

We have two openings on our Board. Only two people put in their name by the established deadline. Then, two board members, without board approval, asked the management company to send a “second chance letter”, and the management company refused to get involved. These two directors, again without board authority, sent out a letter extending the deadline, and got three more candidates to run. Now, there are questions as to whether the election will be valid. When I first got into this business, I would get frustrated when association attorneys would respond with this answer.  This week’s word is Ameliorate. Although this word is not commonly used, it’s definition is simple: Make (something bad or unsatisfactory) better. So what does this have to do with Condos?
