DREAMWORKER IS MOVING..

Yes, we are moving up, up and away.
Our new address is:

The DreamTeam is in our own kind of Disneyland..... the Cape Town Science Centre. No matter where we are, when we are working with unemployed people, every day is fulfilling in some capacity for the DreamTeam. But now we can love what we do in a brand new workspace.........light, bright, clean offices and a wonderful environment. Plus easy access for our employees too. (We are along the Main Road, just past Groote Schuur Hospital).

... AND OUR RESULTS ARE DEFINITELY “MOVING ON UP”!

We opened our doors in Athlone on 1 October 2008. The first few weeks were all about setting up the office, getting our telecommunications ready, setting up our database and generally preparing our business processes.

After our first year we recorded the following statistics:

  • 1 300 people engaged with, interviewed, registered, mentored
  • 30 000 days of work for the unemployed

Today, 5 years later, we are delighted to announce these fantastic results for the DreamWorker group....

  • 9 500 people engaged with, interviewed, registered, mentored
  • 450 000 days of work for the unemployed
Here’s to the next 5 years! May we continue to help more and more and more unemployed people into work opportunities, be those part time or full time.
Well done to each and every member of the DreamTeam who has walked this exciting road with us. And thank you to all our employers, funders, donors, supporters for helping us every step of the way.
Yes, we sure are “moving on up!”

MOVING PEOPLE’S HEARTS AND SOULS

Fundiswa

Fundiswa  Bulu started work as a tea lady at MEC Global in September 2011 and really loves her job. She had been unemployed from June 2010, so finding work was a blessing. But what was even more of a blessing was the wonderful environment she found herself in.

“I started as a tea lady but now I am also doing relief switchboard, welcoming visitors to the boardroom and more. MEC is a very busy media agency and I get to meet so many varied and interesting people every day. I am learning new things, being given more responsibility and I have the most wonderful people  to work with!”

Fundi is clearly equally loved by her work colleagues. To quote a few......

MOVING INTO A BRAND NEW SPACE

Meggan & Patience

Patience Hele has always loved working with people and food. She has been a domestic worker, a childminder and cooked at Deez Mexican Bistro, Hout Bay for several years.
So when Meggan Honeysett from Hout Bay’s Riding Centre was looking for someone to assist at the newly renovated Stable Coffee Shop, Patience was the perfect fit. Earlier this year, the Riding Centre was completely flooded. For Patience, this was a blessing in disguise. When the renovation was planned, a much bigger coffee shop was built than the original venue....... and extra help was needed.

MOVING BOXES, BOTTLES AND MORE

Donovan Bester

When his contract work at Checkers ended, Donovan Bester, like so many people in Atlantis, really battled to find further employment. For 3 long years he remained unemployed, until a colleague told him about DreamWorker. That is how he came to find himself working fulltime at Diamond Liquors.

“I cannot thank DreamWorker enough for helping me find work. I am learning new things here every day. They took me on to do the merchandising and ordering but now I am learning how to operate the tills as well” he enthused.
