Nelson Mandela Quote
Last week Nelson Mandela celebrated his 94th birthday. In honour of his long walk to freedom, people throughout our country dedicated 67 minutes to acts of community service. And many hands made a big difference to the lives of many others who so desperately need help. Which is the very essence of DreamWorker’s Link of Love programme.
But rumour has it that Madiba loves belated birthday gifts! So if you did not get the opportunity to do your 67 minutes, please, please let the unemployed of Cape Town be your helping hands for a day. All you need do is buy a voucher for one day of community work for the unemployed ( R100). Link your love in honour of our beloved Tata’s birthday!

Charles Tshwane & Raymond AckermanFROM INTERN TO PART OF OUR DREAMTEAM

.......”Charles Tshwane!”. I feel my eyes getting slightly tearful as his name is called out and he steps up to shake Raymond Ackerman’s hand and receive his certificate.
Charles Tshwane has been an intern with DreamWorker since February this year. Tonight he is graduating, one of just 24 students who completed the micro MBA programme offered by the Raymond Ackerman Academy. The fact that this young man has managed to complete this entrepreneurship programme is testimony to his endless courage.
Charles passed his matric exams in Limpopo ... at the age of 16! From then on it was uphill all the way.  He wanted to study further but had to find work instead, as his family was unable to support him.  ...READ MORE...

Anthea Barkhuis happily at work at PineWashWhen Michelle Hendricks desperately needed another assistant to cope with the demands of her growing home laundry business, PineWash, she turned to DreamWorker.
Anthea had been unemployed for over 2 years, before she registered with DreamWorker. “I was working in an aluminium factory, but then I lost my job. I really tried to find work, but there was nothing out there for me.”
Anthea came to register with DreamWorker in Athlone and was one of the lucky ones – that same week Michelle requested somebody with a vibrant personality, who could interact with customers, as well as handle the washing and ironing.
“At PineWash I have a philosophy” says Michelle. “I treat other peoples’ washing the way I treat my own. With care! If someone likes their seams ironed on the outside leg, we do that. If another likes it down the centre, we do that."  ...READ MORE...

When Michael Dasa arrived at DreamWorker about a year and a half ago, he had been unemployed for some 2 years, surviving on the odd gardening job to keep food on his table. As soon as he heard about DreamWorker he headed for Athlone. Michael’s wonderful track record with several large commercial gardening companies, ensured he was soon put to task as an ad hoc gardener. But he was ideally looking for full time employment, so when NCC Environmental Services approached DreamWorker for an excellent gardener to join their team, Michael was top of the list!
Today Michael is working at the NCC Nursery in Capricorn Park, propagating slips and seedlings to “green” the entire area. ...READ MORE...
