Carevia Cloete quote

Crystal High School Grade 12s rock!

These profound words were uttered by a young Grade 12 student, Carevia Cloete, during our “Dream Diamond” workshop hosted for the students of Crystal High School, Hanover Park recently. During the workshop, Ronald Bownes led the group through the experience of connecting to the “diamond within”, encouraging them to realise that each and every one of them had gifts to offer the world of work. Their task was to believe that they truly had worth, that they were already heroes, that they were all “A”s, no matter what!

Voorspoed Primary - secure at last!

Oupa WilliamsFor months and months, Voorspoed Primary School has been plagued by break ins – petty thieves stealing everything from all the computer cabling, to copper pipes and even the coloured pencils in the pre school classrooms! Principal Jennifer Lodewyks never loses faith “Sometimes our schools look more like jails that schools” she says. “We have to put bars over the windows, fencing covering the corridors, gates over the doors. But they come at night and over the weekends. I was at a loss until Link of Love stepped in to help us fund Mr Nicholas Williams to help with the security problem at our school”.

Link of Love Gugulethu - helping young and old

The old folk of Gugulethu have had special care this winter thanks to Link of Love. Houses have been cleaned and meals cooked for the aged – all done with love by a group of unemployed ladies in the community.

Link of Love brings joy to Delft!

Happy faces at Abedare PrimaryAbedare Primary (2) School was only opened in January 2012, to take the “overflow” from Adbedare Primary. It is a humble school, with a huge heartbeat.
Principal, Mr David Joseph, was lured out of retirement to be the proud leader of this new school. He is delighted with the progress made to date, but cannot wait to see the prefab structures turned into more permanent buildings. “It gets very hot for the children in summer and of course, pretty cold all winter” he shares. “We are making slow but steady progress and have even started our own vegetable garden”.
