Link of Love Newsletter

December 2011

The Link of Love programme is all about getting people to feel. To feel proud. To feel valuable. To feel worthy of making a contribution.
To realise that they are not their unemployed status, they are not their unpaid bills, they are not their empty wallets.
To realise that if they feel worthy inside, truly worthy, they WILL find work. And so we remind them about how important their contribution is, by giving them an opportunity to help others..... and Link their Love.

Blomvlei blossoms with help from Link of Love!

Bromvlei Primary The nation’s flag flies proudly in the centre of the dusty expanse of playground at Blomvlei Primary School. No lush school fields, treed lunch areas or tarred driveways for parents to drive up to school and drop off their children. This is the harsh reality of schooling on the Cape Flats. Windswept, dry and a daily challenge for many parents to simply pay their school fees...... as unemployment creeps steadily upward.
But Blomvlei Primary is a school with heart. Numerous fundraising events take place to help those in need. So when DreamWorker stepped in to assist with the “Parents Working for School Fees Programme” via our Link of Love donations, well, we were welcomed with open arms!

Link of Love Ladies Pamper Party

The Power of Loving Touch

Imagine 35 women gathered in the Blomvlei Primary School Hall. With all 35 sharing two things in common:
    1. They have worked on the Link of Love programme.
    2. They are all unemployed.
The DreamWorker Link of Love team decided to honour these women for all their love, nurturing and endless giving with a special morning of pampering on 13 December.

In conclusion, a HUGE and HEARTFELT thank you to all our donors for your ongoing support in 2011.
Amina Burgher
The Link of Love programme has done wonderful work in Hanover Park, with the tireless dedication of Amina Burgher (pictured), who runs the programme on the ground.
Every single day of work purchased is precious to us, so please keep on donating in 2012 and please keep spreading the word about DreamWorker and our job creation efforts.
Wishing you all a peaceful year end, with happy memories to look back on and wonderful moments to look forward to!

With love
from the DreamWorker/Link of Love team
How can you help?

The Sirdar Challenge

Sidar Donation

The Sirdar Group has partnered with DreamWorker in a very special way. Every time they run their entrepreneurship workshops, they donate 10 percent of their fees to the Link of Love programme.
In November, we were delighted to receive a cheque for R5 000. That is 50 days of work for the unemployed. Thank you for your partnership with us Sirdar!
We invite other business leaders to take up the challenge in 2012, to partner with us and make a difference towards alleviating unemployment. A regular, monthly contribution can help us give so many more people work in the community.
