Phew is it hot out there! But never fear we have a great competition up our sleeves to help cool you off!

We have two tickets up for grabs for a cruise on the PS Marion in Mannum - all you have to do is answer our question: What three things should you always take with you when you go canoeing/kayaking?

Floatfest News!

SUP - no we don't just mean 'what's up'

Maybe you've seen the term SUP used in our previous emails or in your newsfeed, for those of you who haven't come across the term - no its not just another crazy abbreviation. What we're talking about is Stand Up Paddle-boards (SUPs). SUPs are a great way to get out on the water, exercise and have whole lot of fun all at once.

Better still this year's Floatfest is SUP friendly! For those who have seen them and think they'd be a whole lot of fun but you want to give them a try before you buy you'll have plenty of chances at this year's event!

How to give it a go:

  1. Head on down to Floatfest on Saturday from 11:30am - 3pm to take part in our FREE paddle board workshops/come and try thanks to Stand Up Paddle SA

  2. Both days of Floatfest Rays will have their range of paddle boards on display and available for you test out to try before you buy!

This also means you can enter ALL the record counts with your paddle board!

Thats right! We're taking on an inflatable challenge at Floatfest this year on Saturday! Entry is limited.. or should we say not at all... to anything that floats whether its a canoe, paddle board, inflatable of any kind or a home made raft - we want you to join us to raise funds for Can:Do 4Kids!

$1 from every registration will go straight to Can:Do 4Kids our charity partner!

Register before Early Bird closes and you get the best of both worlds!

How to top off your weekend at Floatfest this year:

Last but not least join us for a relaxed paddle upstream under the twin bridges - the perfect way to wind up the weekend before heading home!

Sturt Reserve around the Twin Bridges, along the Historical Wharf and back to pull up on the grassy banks to wander up and enjoy a relaxing dinner at the Riverscape or Community Club. An easy 2ks approx in a round trip.

Paddle around the pylons of the twin bridges see the 1956 flood levels markers towering above your head, Around and under the huge pylons of the twin bridges. Travelling under you might just hear the vibrations of a train, and or the cars going over the top.
