What's going on? : Robogals Rural Trip

Robogals has had an epic rural trip to South West WA. We travelled to Bridgetown, Manjimup, Bunbury, Augusta, and Margaret River, covering a massive 9 schools in 5 days. We travelled nearly 900 km and saw 263 girls as well as enjoying the beautiful food and wine that the South West has to offer.  I have fond memories of rushing 100 km to get to the next school (in Geetika’s awesome gangster car), looking at the stars after a long day workshops and spending some great times with the other Robogals who went; Caitlin, Adeline and Geetika.  The girls were really receptive to our workshops. It was great to see their faces when they realised they would actually be building and programming the robots in our box. Big shout out to Lara who did an amazing job organising the whole trip. If you could see yourself coming on one of our rural trips soon, contact Geetika because we would love you to teach with us and share the good times in Geraldton!

President's Bulletin

"Hi Robogals and Robolads! While you were earning your summer cents and working on losing your engineering tan, Robogals Perth was hard at work!  We had a busy, busy holiday!! Our schools manager Lara was on the radio (see our facebook page if you want to listen to the audio!)  to promote the holiday workshop we ran; we went on a week long tour of the South West to teach robotics to the girls there; and we have officially seen 600 GIRLS SINCE SEPTEMBER!  That's 75% of the way to our goal of 800 girls taught by September 2013.  So a big THANK YOU to everyone who has volunteered in the past 6 months! We couldn't do it without you!"

Holiday Workshops

Robogals held a holiday workshop at the University of Western Australia on Monday the 13th of January.  We held it over the whole day, with primary school students in the morning and high school students in the afternoon. We covered a variety of activities, including programming, advanced programming, bridge building and an egg drop. Everyone had a great time and we are all looking forward to our workshop in Scitech!
