  1. Announcement of the New Certified Vocational Evaluator (CCVE)
As a result of a need and void within our country, Canada's only Vocational Rehabilitation College (College of Vocational Rehabilitation Professionals) has been working on developing a peer-reviewed Canadian Examination in the area of Vocational Evaluation for those practising in Transferable Skills Analysis, Vocational Evaluations, ‎Earning Capacity Assessments, Labour Market Re-Entry Assessments and any other related assessment.
Your Examination Development Committee, headed by Dr. Garry Corbett, along with a team of Certified Vocational Evaluators (CVE), has been working on developing this peer-reviewed Board exam since the Fall of 2014‎.
‎The College is pleased to advise that we are expecting to offer this new Certified Vocational Evaluator (CCVE) designation ‎by September 2015.  CVRP will be accepting applications starting August 1st of this year for those interested in becoming board certified in Canada. Your Board of Directors is planning ‎to publish the full details surrounding grandfathering process for existing practitioners on our website by July.
We are also very pleased to advise that CAVEWAS is considering becoming the association arm for this new designation by developing ongoing CEU educational programs and services.  In addition, at the upcoming Annual General Meeting in Ottawa on June 17th, 2015, the membership of VRA Canada (of which a large percentage of CVRP registrants hold VRA membership), will be voting on recognizing the CCVE as a professional membership designation, as they had already done for the MCVP and CVP, which were accepted by member vote and changed in the VRA Canada bylaws at the June 2014 VRA Canada AGM.
It is so positive to see all related stakeholders working together, for the benefit of those working within the Vocational Rehabilitation field and for the protection of the public.
  1. CVRP Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice
We are pleased to announce that the revised CVRP Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice document is now posted on the website.  All CVRP Registrant’s should take time to review this document carefully, as this will be the document whereby VR practice behaviour is defined and measured.  Any practice complaints received by the College will be reviewed by the Complaints Committee, based on the CVRP Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice document.   The CVRP Board of Directors proudly accepted this document, with deep thanks Dr. Jody Hawley and the Professional Practice Committee, for the hard work in producing this world class document.
