Galaxy Backbone Limited was created when Government was spending a lot of money on ICT and was not getting the commensurable value. The MDAs were doing different things. The activities of the MDAs were not complementing each other.
Galaxy Backbone Limited has the responsibility of providing a common platform for all Federal Government MDAs and is to be in charge of all Federal MDAs data sovereignty across the country.

AFRINIC launches a New Website
African Network Information Centre (AFRINIC), the regional Internet registry for Africa, launched a New, Fresh, Information and Bilingual website.
The new website was deployed on AFRINIC website domain https://www.afrinic.net
to replace the old website. The new website is available in English and French for now with plans to add an Arabic section planned for 2019. The new website provides a user-friendly browsing experience for AFRINIC members, the community and all the stakeholders.
The website has an improved structure, navigation as well as consolidated pages to ensure that information is easy to find.
