NiRA AT NITDA
It is statutory for the Nigeria Internet Registration Association (NiRA) to submit its annual Business Plan to the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA). On the 18th November 2020, NiRA had the privilege to visit the Director-General/CEO NITDA, Mallam Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi and the NITDA Management Team to present NiRA’s Business Plan.

NiRA PRESIDENT AT HOT FM 93.3 LAGOS
On Thursday 26th November 2020, NiRA President, Mr Muhammed Rudman was a guest at Hot FM 93.3 Lagos, speaking during a live interview session on Financial Matters hosted by Williams Uzomba of Connect Nigeria.
Mr. Rudman spoke on the .ng brand and Nigerian online identity for individuals and companies. For any business to be available on the Internet, the company must have a domain name to be visible on the internet.

REPORT ON THE 8TH MEETING OF THE NATIONAL COUNCIL ON COMMUNICATION AND DIGITAL ECONOMY (NDDCE)
The 8th Regular meeting of the National Council on Communications and Digital Economy (NCCDE) held at the Imo Trade & Investment (Ahiajoku) Centre, Owerri from the 27th November to 2nd December 2020. The theme of the meeting was ''Leveraging Digital Economy Policies & Strategies for Economic Recovery in a Covid-19 Era and Beyond'' . Representatives of the Nigeria Internet Registration Association (NiRA) were at the NCCDE  to promote the .ng brand, Nigerian online identity. NiRA was proud to receive the dignitaries at the exhibition booth, provided by the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA)

NiRA VP, Mr. TOBA OBANIYI WINS OUTSTANDING YOUNG PERSON OF THE YEAR AWARD
The Young Persons Award organized by the Young Entrepreneurs International Summit (YEIS) celebrates outstanding young entrepreneurs and persons from various parts of the globe. The gathering brings together young persons from various industries and sectors, who have in the past year been able to be a renowned force in their sector or industry.
 
Mr Toba Obaniyi, the Vice President,  Executive Board of Directors of the Nigeria Internet Registration Association (NiRA), for his role as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at WHOGOHOST,  was presented an award of recognition as one of the Outstanding young people of the year 2020 at the 2020 edition of the Young Persons Award and Dinner which took place in Lagos Nigeria on the 29th November 2020.

MEDALLION AND ITS CEO BAGS AWARDS AT THE 2020 BOICT AWARDS
Engr Nnamani, the Treasurer, Executive Board of Directors at the Nigeria Internet Registration Association (NiRA) and Chief Executive Officer at Medallion Communications Limited scooped awards at the annual Beacon of Information and Communication Technology Awards (BoICT) organised by Nigeria CommunicationsWeek, a leading Nigerian ICT newspaper in Lagos, Nigeria.
Engr. Nnamani, President of Medallion and current President of the Association of Telecommunication Companies of Nigeria (ATCON), won the "Nigeria CommunicationsWeek ICT Personality of the Year" Award at the 2020 BoICT awards due to his active contributions and relentless efforts to develop the Nigerian telecommunication industry. The Award was presented to the Medallion CEO by the President of the Nigeria Internet Registration Association (NiRA), Mr Muhammed Rudman.

The year 2021 is just around the corner. We need to prepare for the year 2021 and years ahead. We had prepared and planned extensively for the year 2020. Oh, we had big plans. What does the year 2021 and years ahead have in store for us? For the majority of the world, the year 2020 started with a lot of funfairs, hopes, promises, aspirations and goals. In the year 2020, the world started to experience a global pandemic, popularly known as COVID-19. The pandemic has gone down in global history as an unprecedented global health challenge that shook the entire globe. The pandemic has affected every facet of life negatively, many people have lost their source of livelihood, businesses have closed down and many have lost their lives in the midst of this pandemic.
