Good Morning!
The first batch of pigs for the year is going to the butcher later this month. I have a couple pigs still available if you want to fill your freezer. Price for a half pig is $5.25lb based on the hanging weight. These pigs should be right around 105 to 125lbs per half pig.
Email me if you want to reserve a half
Eggs
Eggs are available from the farm fridge any day of the week. Feel free to stop by and help yourself. We keep the fridge stocked at all times.
Now that we are into May the growing season is finally taking off. We are busy fixing fences and waterlines, cleaning up fallen dead trees from the winter and getting things going. It's going to be a busy year. As always thank you all for your business. It's what allows us to keep going!
Blessings

During the winter when the pastures are buried in snow the pigs help us make nutrient rich compost. This was a really cold morning during the winter. The pigs just about disappear under the hay to keep warm coming out only to eat and maybe dig thru the bedding a little. No need to buy fertilizers when we are making our own.

More compost making. While searching for grain the pigs dig down thru the deep bedding. Tossing and turning and stirring the bedding gets the oxygen into the bedding and speeds up the composting process. The compost will be spread on the fields to add carbon to the soil, increase fertility, and grow more grass
