The Federal Anti-Discrimination Agency
(FADA) are celebrating their 10th anniversary this year, together with that of the German General Equal Treatment Act (AGG). A very well attended event in Berlin this week, brought together dignatories from Germany and around Europe, including German Minister of Justice and Consumer Protection, Heiko Maas and
EU Commissioner for Justice, Consumers and Gender Equality, Věra Jourová. While the advances in combatting discrimination in Germany thanks to this piece of legislation were applauded, both the Commissioner and Head of FADA Christine Lüders reminded us how much remains to be done in Germany and Europe to extend the same rights to all.
