A Body of Music Education Work

We look at the bare bones and much more...

Welcome to the February 2018 edition of the Yorkshire Youth & Music bulletin!

Sorry it's a late one this month, folks! It is definitely worth the wait...

In honour of our very first Singing and Signing Summit, and inspired by the visual minutes (produced by yours truly, folks!) from the session, this month is all about the human body...

Don't give us the cold shoulder, folks! Send your aches and pains or your fantastic feats of endurance to us on facebook, twitter or via news@yym.org.uk!

All the best,

Rebeka

and Arts Award

Yorkshire Youth & Music have been working in Secure Children’s Homes for a few years now, and we are now doing Arts Awards with young people who are resident there.

In addition to our on-going music workshops, Bronze Arts Award involves visiting an arts event (which the young people invited into the secure home instead), research into an artist, and a skill-sharing session.

The Singing & Signing Space
Brand new for 2018 is our very own Singing & Signing Space. In honour of our continuing work with Deaf and Hearing Impaired (DHI) children, we are sharing our resources with you for FREE, one per month for the next 12 months.

Here are the results from the first Singing and Signing Summit held at the end of last month. Visual minutes are courtesy of our very own comms officer, Rebeka.

Don't forget our Great Singing, Great Signing warm up song
'Baby One Two Three',
that goes well with our theme!

Yorkshire Youth and Music training
YY&M's training takes place in direct connection with the needs of our projects

If you would like to access training in music education with children in challenging circumstances, we might be able to help.

Please take a look at our current projects for the types of work we're doing and the young people we're working with now. And feel free to contact us if you want to get involved!
