President's Message
Hello gun club members new and old. Our club has gone through many changes and upgrades in the last few years and it has all been to the benefit of our club and the members. On the riffle and pistol ranges we have had to change a few ways we operate in order to maintain safety practices and to be good neighbors. We are no longer on the remote edge of town. Our main interest is safety first be a good neighbor and improve our facility to enhance its use for the membership. Sometimes we can't get to every disciplines wants it seems fast enough but thankfully because of some dedicated board members with the help of some members were getting there. There is such a need for volunteers to help with these projects any description I could make would be a understatement. Most people would rather stay out of the management or governing of a club I understand that, but please feel you can volunteer some of your time with out getting involved with that part of it.We have a great club with outstanding members a very active and conscientious board working to keep this facility in compliance and in its location for many generations to come. On that note I want to mention our junior riffle program led by Atascadero's citizen of the year Jay DeCou who is also a very active board of director. We also have another youth program that is made possible through another N R A grant which is focused on junior shotgun shooting. We are in our second session and the kids and their improved skill levels and excitement is just great to be part of. Thank you John Silva, Ed Merritt, Gary Hazard and Linda Lee for help on this project. We have a suggestion box on the club house exterior wall please feel free to express ideas for improvement or disapprovals that's the only way we can support your needs. We are all here because of like kind interests lets work together use our good common sense and judgement in all uses of our club and it will be here for our grand kids. Thank you all for you continued effort.  Keith Baker
