MEMBER BALLOT
 
The ballot results for the measures to restate and amend the Articles of incorporation and bylaws were: 
Number of Eligible Voters: 870
Total Votes Cast:  439
Votes cast for the Amended Articles of Incorporation and Amended Bylaws: 380
Votes cast Against the Amended Articles of Incorporation and Amended Bylaws: 20
Votes cast to Abstain from voting on the ballot measure: 39
 Over 50% of the members cast ballots in response to the measure. The measures were overwhelmingly approved and the Association has new Amended Articles and Bylaws effective January 1, 2016. OPERATING PROCEDURES
 
The Board adopted and approved new Operating Procedures effective January 1,2016. The new Operating Procedures are available on the website and should be reviewed.


The major changes are:
Guest Policy: a member may only bring a guest to use the range and facilities on Saturday and Sunday. All guest must sign a release of liability form and pay a $5.00 guest fee. All guests must be, at least, 18 years old. A person may use the range as a guest only one (1) time. The rules for immediate family have not changed, they must be accompanied by the hosting member.
 
Volunteer Service: to encourage participation and social interaction, the Association provides numerous opportunities to the member to get involved by joining a committee or a match group or just participating in sponsored events.
 
Alcohol & Drug Policy: The Association has modified its alcohol & drug policy to absolutely restrict the use or possession of an illegal drug or substance on its property.
 
Rifle and Pistol Range Times: the opening and closing times for these ranges varies depending upon the season, conditions, and activities, always check the website. In the past the ranges could be open as late as 7:00 pm. Effective January 1, 2016, the latest these ranges will be open is 6:00 pm.
 
Holster & Concealed Weapon Policy: A new policy is in effect for the carrying of a holstered or concealed weapon on Association property.
The handgun, whether loaded or unloaded, is holstered only in the designated area located on the handgun range (Directly in front of the seven (7) yard target board and to the right of the painted red line.);
The firearm shall be unloaded, cylinder open or slide locked and magazine removed, and placed on the front bench muzzle pointing toward the target boards, if a cease fire is called or a person is down range;
The member may only use a controlled straight draw to remove the handgun from the holster; and All other range rules are observed.
Certain exceptions apply to law enforcement.
 
Archery Range Closure: The Archery range is closed when any trap or skeet machines are in use.
Please read and review all the new Operating Procedures.
 
Service Credits, Committees & Match Groups: To meet is responsibilities as a social and recreational club, the Association has introduced Service credits as a means of becoming and maintaining full membership status. The Association requests all members to participate in Association events and to join a Committee or a Match Group. A description of each Committee and Match Group may be found on the website.
 
 
RIFLE RAFFLE
On January 9, 2016 we drew the winning tickets for the two Weatherby rifles. The first ticket drawn was Lee Moura and he will receive the Weatherby back country .308 rifle. The second ticket drawn was David Johnson from Porterville and he will receive the Weatherby Vanguard .223. Both were very excited with their winnings.

COMMITTEE REPORTS

 
  Black powder: Matches are held on the first Sunday of the month starting at 9:00 am. At the January 3rd match Dennis Gray was first in rifle, Good Gary was second and Len Ward third. In the pistol match Len Ward was first, Good Gary second and Terence Tweetie third.
 
Junior Rifle: Jay DeCou- Junior Rifle is a year-long program that’s starts in July and meets on third Saturday a month. We have just begun our next annual session.
 
Varmint Rifle: Dennis Gray- Matches are held the first Saturday of the month at 9:00 a.m. with signups at 8:00 a.m. Cost is $5.00 and we use .22 long rifles. You shoot against like rifles. We have loaner sandbags and spotting scopes.

Trap: Fred Weinstein- Trap is open on Sundays from 9:00am to 1:00pm and Wednesdays from 5:00pm to 9:00pm.   
February 27th and 28th we are hosting a ATA Winter Chain trap shoot; we are expecting 75 to 100 shooters. We will be needing help cleaning and preparing for the shoot as well as running the event.
 
Skeet: Jerry Dillard-   We are open for practice on Wednesday evening 5:00pm till 9:00pm and Sunday morning 9:00am to 1:00pm. 
 
Tactical Pistol: Chris Baker- Our matches are held on the fourth Saturday of the month, with a walk through and new shooter orientation at 8:30 am and the match starts at 9:00 am. The matches are based on USPSA style pistol shooting.
 
Archery: Mike Hardy- On the second Saturday of the month we have a beginner archery class. The class runs from 9:00am to 10:30am, we have had to hold some of the classes on other Saturdays due to schedule conflicts so check the club calendar. Anyone interested can come out and we will teach them how to shoot a bow. We have youth bows and are in the process of purchasing more youth bows due to the overwhelming interest in archery.
 
Junior Shotgun: Keith Baker- On February 20 we will be hosting a Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP) shoot, we are expecting 75 Junior shooters and their families to our club. We will be needing help cleaning the club grounds for their arrival. We will also be needing help that day scoring targets, loading trap machines, answering questions, and supervising.
Please come out and join us, these are our future shooters that will keep our outdoor sports alive.
Our youth shotgun class meets on Thursday evenings from 6:00pm to 7:00pm. We cover Safe Gun Handling, gun fit, trap etiquette, and trap leads on targets. Cost is $35 per child or $70 maximum per family per session. This program is partially sponsored by the NRA through grants. The next session will start on February 4th with sign ups, if you have a youth that is interested in learning fundamentals of shooting a shotgun, gun safety, and breaking targets bring them out to the class.

Money Shoot: Dale Vogt- On the 4th Wednesday of the month starting at 6:00pm we have a trap money shoot. You shoot 25 targets from the 16-yard line and 25 targets from a handicap yardage, if you break all 50 targets you get half of the money in the kitty.  
 
HIGH POWER RIFLE: Duard Danielson- In October we held a Garand Clinic, there were 2 individuals that attended the clinic and both had a good time and are interested in our High Power program.
