February 2014

(Pistol shown is for illustration purposes only)

At the end of the year we are going to have a drawing for a free Rock Island Armory 1911 Tactical Pistol in 45 ACP. It comes with ambi safety, skeletonized hammer and trigger with beavertail safety. This is a great shooter and a good addition to anyone’s 1911 collection. To enter the drawing all you have to do is donate some time working at the rifle and pistol ranges as a range host. Executive officer Ricky Fernandez is working out the details and he will have a schedule set up and a sign in sheets. The more time you donate the more chances you will have to win!

We have just received official notice from the National Rifle Association that we will be receiving a grant for the junior rifle, archery, and Women of Target programs. The total of the grant is $19,404.42.
We have a Boy Scout that is working on getting his Eagle Scout Badge, he is going to design and build a canopy at the archery range. He has gone out and got sponsors to help defray the cost of the canopy.

We will be hosting our first ever ATA Winter Chain Shoot on March 8th and 9th. We will have a work party on March 1st we would appreciate any help to get our club cleaned for our guests.

We are working in a joint venture with Paso Robles Ford to bring five time Olympic medalist Kim Rhode to the central coast sometime this summer.
