On December 6th 5 time Olympic medalist Kim Rhode was at our club from 10:00am to 4:00pm, she put on shooting demonstrations, instructed and talked with our junior shooters that were present and shot with them. She signed autographs and you could take pictures with her and either holding her medals or with them around your neck. It was a great day for all that attended. There are pictures posted on our website. We collected $4,503.00 dollars in donations, half was donated to her charity Ronald McDonald’s Kid & Clays and the other half was donated to our junior shooting programs.

We have only had 1 incident at the rifle and pistol ranges in the past 2 months. This could have turned into a very serious accident and possibly a death. A member and 2 guests were at the range shooting at both the rifle and pistol ranges.
The infractions were: Leaving a rifle unattended on a shooting bench pointed down range with the action closed. Handling a weapon while people were down range (finger was in the trigger guard). Discharging a weapon into the cement slab (approximately 4 inches from his foot). No eye protection. Not using the safety lights when going down range. Not keeping your guests with you. Pointing a pistol down the shooting line.
As members we must patrol ourselves and our fellow shooters. It is our responsibility to make sure that we are being as safe as possible along with our fellow shooters. We must all follow all of the safety rules no matter if we are the only ones at the range or not.

Have fun and shoot straight
