Issaquah Valley Elementary PTA
A huge thank you to everyone who attended the 2016 IVE PTA Auction.
There are still a few things available in our online auction. Those include some sign-up experiences and personally inscribed books hand picked by the teachers! We will keep the online auction open through Friday so visit ivepta.org and follow the link to the Online Auction.
Our Fund-a-Need this year is for the health and wellness of our children. We are making permanent improvements to our playground, aiming to include crossfit equipment that both our children and the community can use. Please consider making a donation to support our school and improve our playground! Visit ivepta.org for more details.

Family Engineering Night Call for Volunteers
Planning is underway for IVE's 5th Annual Family Engineering Night (Friday, April 29th) and we need volunteers! Whether you are an engineer or just interested in helping kids learn about all the things engineers do, this is a great way to contribute your unique talents to the IVE community. Besides attendance at the event, we ask that you attend one or two preparation sessions (evenings) to help make sure the event is a success. Please contact Patty Dillon or Lisa Milkowski at email@example.com for more details.
Please donate Legos!
IVE could desperately use some more Legos in the Resource Room. Playing with Legos is highly motivating to kids, very helpful for their dexterity AND they build things together and learn to share. Please consider donating your old, random, small or large (preschool size) Legos for educational purposes. Deliver to the office in care of Natalie Watters.

School Bond Volunteers Needed! Volunteers are needed for Honk and Wave and literature drops to encourage voters to support the school bond. The first honk and wave is taking place on Thursday, April 7th. Morning shifts are from 6:30-8:30am and evening shifts are from 5-7pm at designated locations within the district. Bring the kids and your enthusiasm and stay as long or as little as you can. Volunteers are also needed to distribute postcards in your neighborhoods on Saturday, April 2nd. These are both really fun opportunities for families & friends to do together! Let’s get voters’ attention so we can get this bond passed! Contact Shari Tokumi at email@example.com to sign up or for more information.
Today's Bond Fact: Issaquah School Bond - Growth & Building: In 1990, student enrollment was 8,600. The District had three high schools, three middle schools and seven elementary schools. By 2002, enrollment had climbed to 14,500. Today nearly 19,000 students attend 3 high schools, 5 expanded middle schools, and 15 elementary schools. Over the last 10 years, the Issaquah School District Capital Projects Department has successfully managed approximately $325 million in projects and our schools and support service centers are modern, efficient, cost effective, and equitable district-wide. A variety of sustainable strategies have been used to enhance the learning environment while reducing maintenance and operational costs. Energy efficient construction saves operation dollars that can be used for the classroom.
For an update on ISD's current construction projects please visit: http://www.issaquah.wednet.edu/district/departments/CapProjects. Endorse the bond at www.visvote.org.
Issaquah Schools Foundation - Reserve your seat for two of the most inspiring events of the season—the ISF Nourish Every Mind Luncheon will be held on Thursday, April 28 and the ISF Nourish Every Mind Breakfast is on Wednesday, May 4. Both events showcase students and staff who have benefitted from Foundation investments, inspirational videos, entertainment and information on the impact private donations have on our public schools. Seating at the Luncheon and Breakfast are limited. Contact ISF Ambassador Shari Tokumi at firstname.lastname@example.org to reserve your seat or for more information.
The first Wednesday of every month is ISF’s Dining for Kids. On April 6th join ISF at Mirchi Indian Café and Agave Cocina and a portion of their sales will be donated to the Foundation.
Make a donation to the Value Village in Issaquah or Redmond from March 19-April 3 and ISF will benefit from your donation. You must mention the Issaquah Schools Foundation at the time of your donation.
The Issaquah Schools Foundation thanks you for your generous support!
