The first PTA hosted Staff and Teacher Appreciation Luncheon of the year is taking place Friday, November 13 and we are looking for chefs of all abilities to share their culinary talents. The theme is Comfort Food so whether you make a rocking mac and cheese or a killer mashed potatoes, this is your time to shine. If you're not the next Rachel Ray or Martha Stewart, don't worry, you can show you care by picking up some bread or drinks or signing up to help set up, serve or clean up! FALL BOOK FAIR IS NEXT WEEK! Monday, November 16th-Friday, November 20th
There is a wide selection of books that every child will LOVE! Not only does this put books in the hands of our students, it also puts books in the hands of your teachers and librarian!
Book Fair hours are:
Tuesday 8am-3pm (lunch with a friend during your child's lunch time)
Wednesday 8am-noon, 6pm-8pm Family Night

IVE will be collecting gently used clothing to support the Eastside Fire & Rescue's 5th Annual “Fill the Truck”
to benefit Issaquah & Mt. Si Food and Clothing Banks. Donations will be collected through November 25th

Holiday Family Movie Night -Friday, December 4th at 6:00 pm.
Mark your calendars for an evening of Family Fun at our first Family Movie Night! Wear your PJs and bring your blankets as we will be showing "Polar Express" on the big screen in the MPR! Free popcorn and water will be provided!
Join us for our upcoming PTA General Meeting
this Thursday, November 12 at 7:00 pm
in the IVE Library. Captain Russ Tanner from Eastside Fire will be our guest speaker and he will be speaking to us about the Breakfast After the Bell program at IVE and their current clothing drive for families in need. Members are encouraged to bring their gently used clothing donations to the PTA meeting. We will also be discussing the first round of grant applications. Child care will be provided in the MPR. Director of Enrichment Needed!
The PTA has added several after-school enrichment programs this year but spaces are limited and demand is high. We would love to recruit a Director of Enrichment to coordinate some additional class and programming options. Attention 5th Grade Parents!
Pre-registration is going on now for outdoor education camp at Camp Orkila. We would love for every 5th grader to come be part of the adventure! Want a great gift idea?
To help get every 5th grade student get to Camp Orkila with their classmates, the 5th grade team is selling Brown Bear Car Wash coupons. Purchase a 5-pack of car wash coupons for $30 or individual coupons for $7. Make a difference... Become an Angel
Please become an Angel Sponsor and have a direct impact on the life of one of our own IVE students. Angels are parents and individuals who are able to sponsor a child in need with basic necessities twice a year. Contributions in the form of gift cards make giving easy. Reminder: Math Adventure Parent Info Night Monday, November 16 from 7-8 PM in the IVE Library. Parents of 2nd-5th grade students are encouraged to come find out about this exciting opportunity. Jogging Club is back and we need YOUR HELP on our journey to “Run Across America!”
Who: Kindergarten-5th Graders
When: Every Tuesday and Thursday during LUNCH RECESS starting November 3rd-June
10:35-10:55 Kindergarten & 2nd Grade Recess
11:00-11:20 1st & 4th Grade Recess
11:25-11:45 3rd & 5th Grade Recess
Where: IVE Field (child registration NOT required since this is a recess activity)
What: IVE students will run 2,770 miles - a distance equal to running from Issaquah, Washington to Washington D.C. Individual recognition will be given to students on the Jogging Club Bulletin Board as they complete each 5 miles. Students will receive special individual recognition when they reach 26.2 miles (Marathon mark!)
What’s the need? Volunteers who are willing to mark the students’ cards as they complete laps (rain or shine) and help keep our Jogging Club Bulletin Board up to date!

Kindergarten-2nd grade Holiday Choir is coming soon! Registration forms came home and are due on November 13, 2015.
The Choir will be singing 5-6 simple holiday songs, and holding three rehearsals on Wednesday afternoons (November 18, December 9, and December 16 from 1:00-2:30) before the final performance the evening of Wednesday, December 16th. Calling all 5th Graders! Yearbook Cover Contest
The Yearbook Cover Contest starts NOW! All 5th graders are welcome to participate in the contest. One lucky 5th grader's drawing will be selected as the 2015-2016 yearbook cover. Ideas for yearbook covers could include: your favorite school activity, school mascot or whatever else comes to your imagination.
Entry forms can be found in the hallway by the office. Entries are due by November 15th. Winner will be announced in December!
