The school year approaches....

Fall Retreat

One of my favorite parts of each Fall Semester is the yearly Northern New England Fall Retreat, in which students from Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire and Northern Massachusetts gather for a weekend of fellowship, worship, and prayer.

The group pictured above is composed of students from Bowdoin College, Colby College, Southern Maine Community College, and Maine College of Art - all active chapters that I am blessed to be working with in my new role as Area Director. (I actually am in the picture - my forehead is just peeking out in the middle of the photo)

There are stories behind every face in that picture - too many to tell - including new Christians, students who are actively leading their friends to explore God and Scripture, International Students reaching out to other Internationals on their campuses, and young people engaging their campuses with the justice of God's Kingdom. He is on the move in Maine!
New Worship Space @ UNE!
I have become very passionate about cultivating genuine ministry partnership between the campus and the local church, and I am thrilled to announce something new that is being birthed out of such partnership at the University of New England....

Coming directly out of the vision of student leaders and local ministers, beginning Sunday, November 8th, a brand-new weekly chapel service called "Roots" will be launched on-campus at UNE. This will be a space of worship, prayer, and teaching geared towards student and campus impact. The local church is supplying food and music leadership, and they have asked me to speak at the inaugural event! This is true collaboration, birthed from student vision, and I couldn't be more thrilled about it! Plus, the posters look fantastic. :)
Finally, as I continue to spend time on campuses, I am also looking to raise about 10% of my budget for the upcoming fiscal year (about $8000 total). If you feel so led, please click here to donate to this ministry.

Much love,

But there are also many other things that Jesus did; if every one of them were written down, I suppose that the world itself could not contain the books that would be written. (John 21.25)
