Greetings Good People!

As the leaves and the temperatures begin to fall, we find ourselves filled with
gratitude for all of the amazing musical moments that we’ve shared with you this year!! We are equally excited by the calendar full of fun that lies ahead.

Our last two months have taken us to the National Portrait Gallery in Washington DC for a commemoration of the March on Washington and out to Orem, Utah for our first visit to the fabulous Timpanogos Storytelling Festival. That incredible week ended with a trip to see the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. The choir was preparing for a concert with the legendary James Taylor.

As the joy of remembering the March on Washington moved toward more tragic memories of the bombing of the Sixteenth Street Baptist Church in Birmingham, AL, we joined with the community in that historically pivotal city for Empowerment Week 2013, and  performed Civil Rights Movement music and stories at 13 public libraries. It was an inspiring week all around.

Other Highlights

Kim continues to gratefully celebrate her graduation and to embrace her new scholarly role as Dr. Kim Harris, Ph.D with joy.
Reggie completed his 3rd year as Music Educator for the 8th annual Living Legacy Pilgrimage as 46 people, from across the US, boarded a bus and made stops in Alabama and Mississippi to visit the various sites and meet many of the unsung heroes and sheroes who made the Civil Rights Movement what it was...a national awakening.

Information on next year’s journey can be found at <www.livinglegacy.org>

In the coming months, more exciting opportunities to see the "dynamic duo" are on the horizon and we don’t want you to miss any of them!! Be sure to check the calendar pages on www.kimandreggie.com for dates and details.

This month it's Jonesborough TN for a week as featured tellers for the International Storytelling Festival and sharing music and message with UU congregations in Chattanooga, TN and Franklin, NC, before we take our Underground Railroad program west for dates in the schools and a concert date in Fairfield, OH.

And there’s a special date at month’s end that takes us back to DC and the Barns at Wolftrap. Our friends Terry and Greg Magpie will be celebrating their 40th anniversary year and we’ll be there to join in the joyful festivities.

So check our website and come find us when we are nearby. If we’re not performing close enough to you, ask your local music venue sponsor, or send us a note to tell us who they are. We’ll follow up.

Cheers!
Kim and Reggie
