The Education Network is Looking for a New Coordinator
Our coordinator is seeking new challenges and will take up her new job as Global Education Project Manager in IBIS from 1 June 2013. The Education Network is therefore looking for a new coordinator. You can se the job advert here.

Report on the Conference Turning the Tide for Afrian Youth
The conference: “Turning the Tide for African Youth” organized by the Education Network and the Children and Youth Network was held on 26 February 2013. More than 50 participants took part in the conference, where leading experts and NGOs presented their experiences from working with skills development and education for Youth. The report on the conference is now availsble. You can download it here.

Global Action week in Denmark... With a Small Delay
The 21.-27. April 2013 is marked GCE's Global Action Week, which saw millions of people taking part in GCE Members' activities worldwide to support the 'Every Child Needs a Teacher' campaign. In Denmark, the events in connection with the Global Action Week is arranged by our member organization IBIS. Due to the teacher lockout the major Global Action Week event in Denmark was postponed to the 23 May. Read more about what happened in other places at the homepage of GCE.



Reflections on post - 2015: The Time has come to Demand the Impossible
The UN Millennium Development Goals will soon be replaced by other goals. There is a need for alternatives to the current economic growth model that does not last in the long run. Read Henrik Nielsen’s reflections on the global goals, which was brought in the Danish Newspaper Information 9. May. Read more here.

International Conference on Entrepreneurship and Employment in the Global South 24-25 June 2013 at Copenhagen Business School
This interdisciplinary conference will focus on the nature of entrepreneurship and employment in the global South and the ways in which the world of work is constantly evolving in response to demographic shifts, urbanization, technological progress, globalization and the impact of the financial crisis. Among the issues addressed at the conference is the role of formal and informal vocational/entrepreneurship education. Read more about the conference here.

Institute for Human Rights invites you to presentation of toolbox for Human Rights Education
'The Human Rights Education Toolbox - A practitioners guide to planning and managing human rights education' is designed to guide practitioners in their work to promote human rights through education. Read more about the toolbox in the invitation where you can also download it. The report is presented in a meeting on Tuesday 21 May, 14.00-16.00 at the Danish Institute for Human Rights, Wilders Plads 8H, 3rd floor, 1403 Copenhagen K.. Participation is free.

Basic Education and Gender Equality
In the beginning of May the Government of Denmark and UNICEF hosted the interactive discussion ‘Breaking barriers: Innovative partnerships creating exponential change in access to quality learning’. The session consisted of audience participation and dialogue. A large part of the discussion focused on defining innovation for education and for children and young people. You can watch the discusson here.

Education for All Global Monitoring Report: Policy Paper 8
Low and middle income countries rich in natural resources could make huge strides towards universal schooling if they managed resource revenues better and devoted a significant share to education. You can read all about how natural resources can finance education for all in EFA GMR Policy Paper 8.
