November 2013 Edition

The Wind of Change

The winter is coming. The winds have changed their direction. Nature is getting ready for its habitual slumber.
And yet despite that, JEF is teaming with life more than ever before: locally, nationally and internationally.

Nationally, our Political Secretary Peter Oomsels resigned from his post and the General Assembly elected Sébastien Pirlet to take his post. We welcome Sébastien in our midst and wish him a great term in his new role.
Next up at the European Congress in Paris, our very own Peter Oomsels was elected as the vice-president of JEF Europe.
Additionally, JEF Belgium member Monica TIberi was elected as a JEF Europe's Federal Committee Member.
Congratulations to both of them! May
their days be long and their hardships few!

Federalist regards,
— JEF Belgium Board

NEWS - JEF Europe Congress Brings a New Logo and Fresh Faces

In the first week of November, over 160 JEF delegates descended on Paris to adopt a new direction and look for JEF as an organisation. And succeed they did! The fruit of their contemplation and decisions were the adoption of a new political platform for JEF, elected a new Executive Board and Federal committee - with Pauline Gessant being the incumbent for the JEF Europe president - as well as an arbitration board and an auditors committee for the 2013-2015 mandate.
During the Congress, JEF also welcomed no less than seven new member sections: three as full members (JEF-Netherlands, JEF-Turkey, JEF-Armenia) and four new candidate sections (JEF-Iceland, JEF-Montenegro, JEF-Azerbaijan, JEF-Belarus).
The final major change was that the delegates approved a new, refreshed logotype, which you can see for yourself above on the left.
