Hello from the Office of Student Wellness!

We are so excited to welcome everyone back together again for a wonderful academic year ahead. Between classes, orgs, team practices, hanging out with friends, and all that's in between - you may find yourself with questions about balancing your wellness. That's why we are here to help!

Each month we will send out our wellness newsletter, featuring resources and programs from partners across campus on all aspects of your wellness to help you be well at Wellesley!

Be well,
The Office of Student Wellness

What are the 8 dimensions of wellness? We know that we are all complex individuals with dynamic needs, so too is our well-being. Therefore, we embrace 8 holistic dimensions of wellness, which includes emotional, physical, occupational, intellectual, financial, social, environmental, and spiritual wellness. Each month we will be spotlighting a different dimension of wellness every month, along with resources and programs to support your wellness!

This month, we are spotlighting physical wellness, which involves caring for our body, including our sleep, exercise, nutrition, sexual health, immunity, and substance use. Like all of the dimensions of wellness, physical wellness is intimately tied to all aspects of our wellness; for example, sharing a meal with a friend helps fuel our bodies, while also being a great way to strengthen our social and emotional wellness. Check out tips and programs below to support your physical wellness!

▪ As the academic year gets under way, it's a great time to explore routines to best support your whole self, including your physical wellness!

▪ Perhaps it's setting up a routine to support more restful sleep, connecting with our Nutritionist, or incorporating substance use harm reduction and bystander strategies to help yourself or a sib in need!
To schedule a visit, refill a medication, or ask a question, call Health Services (781-283-2810 M-F between 8:30am-5pm) or use the Patient Gateway.

For more information, please refer to updated FAQs and check out the Keeping Wellesley Healthy website. Reminder that Health Services is able to perform same-day rapid PCR tests for symptomatic students!

Monkeypox: Per the CDC, while the overall risk of monkeypox is low for the US public, and monkeypox remains much harder to transmit than other viruses (like COVID-19), it's important to stay informed to stay safe. To learn more, please check out this handout and the video "5 Things You Need to Know About Monkeypox" both from the CDC. Please note, Health Services is in communication with infectious disease colleagues at Newton-Wellesley Hospital to stay up-to-date with the latest protocols, diagnostics, and treatment.

Flu: Health Services will be at various sites throughout campus this year, so be on the lookout soon for dates/times and how to sign up for flu clinics!
