Join us for the 4th Annual Ashland Chalk Walk
Saturday, May 4th, 2013 9am-3pm
@ The Library Plaza

All proceeds go to support our Arts & Culture District.  We provide the chalk - you provide the Art!  

Click here to register for a 3'X3' block for $5 or 6'X6' block for $10.   

Sponsorship levels start at $25 dollars.   New this year is the $100 50/50 option where a designated artist will receive $50 for their design and $50 will support the Arts & Culture District.  We have talented Patrick Henry and Hanover High school students that are being sponsored this year.   Sponsor an artist in your community!   Click here to sponsor the Chalk Walk today!

D.B.Cox Building Joins Cross Bros. in Receiving Historic Marker
The photo shows the England Street crossing in Ashland around 1921. Mrs. F.W. Tucker, Jr., her son Bootie and Drewry Kerr on the tricycle. This photograph looking south from England Street taken after the turn of the century shows Cox’s Department Store, Meyberg’s Sundries store, Hughes Drugstore, the second U.S. Post Office and Puryear & Napier grocery. This line of commercial buildings still stands at the center of historic Ashland.   A historic marker  will be dedicated to the building on Saturday, May 4th 2013.

The Ashland Main Street Association and the Ashland Museum invite you to celebrate the importance of the D.B. Cox Department Store and the family that made it all possible.  All are welcome to join us in front of the Iron Horse Restaurant as we hear from the Cox family as they unveil a historic marker that honors the 100th anniversary of this building.   Cake will be served!
