Untold Stories – a panel of 6 citizens tell stories about  Ashland/Hanover, Black and White Experiences. Join us to learn about prescription drug addiction.  The program features a 45 minute documentary followed by a question and answer session.  Joining us at this vital community meeting will be State Senators and Delegates (invited), representatives from the Board of Supervisors and the Ashland Town Council, leaders from the business and faith communities, members and staff of the Hanover Cares Coalition, teachers and administrative personnel from Hanover County public schools, dedicated employees from Hanover County Community Services and law enforcement officers from Ashland and Hanover County.  Click HERE for more information.

Ashland Main Street Association applauds the Origin Beer Lab!  This innovative new business is not only bringing more visitors to the Center of the Universe but they are partnering with Randolph-Macon College in teaching the art AND science of making craft beer.  Read about Professor Dr. Grace Fong and her student Matthew Houle in the article 'Wild and Sour Beers in the Making'  Go by and see Origin in action! Their GRAND Opening is just in time for the Super Bowl!  Visit  106 S. Railroad Ave!  Hours of Operation:  Wed-Fri 4-9pm and Sat & Sun Noon - 9pm!

One Year Ago - The Art Deco Society of Virginia did a fundraiser for the historic Ashland Theater!  Check out the 
Ashlanders who enjoyed the Jazz Preservation Ball held at the Bolling Haxall House is Richmond, VA on January 30, 2016.  This year's ball will be held on February 11th and proceeds will benefit an Art Deco mapping project which would include our theater. Consider joining this wonderful organization!  Stay tuned for a Theater Update coming soon!

All About Main Street  & 'GET CENTERED' 

Ashland Main Street Association is a nonprofit 501 (c)(3) organization, founded to help build Ashland into a vibrant, diverse community of residents, businesses, arts and cultural organizations, and to bring visitors into historic downtown Ashland.  It works to preserve, enhance and promote downtown Ashland, to improve the economic vitality and livability of our unique town while preserving its historic character.  On June 7, 2013 Ashland Main Street Association was recognized as a designated Virginia Main Street Community.  

The Virginia Main Street Program is a preservation-based economic and community development program that follows the Main Street Four-Point Approach™ developed by the National Trust Main Street Center. Virginia Main Street offers a range of services and assistance to communities interested in revitalizing their historic commercial districts.  
'GET CENTERED' is Ashland Main Street Association's monthly newsletter that highlights events in the Center of the Universe.  We feature businesses, artists, nonprofits, Randolph-Macon College and town events in each issue.
