Cinder, the Train Day Bear is pointing out where our CSX Stage will be installed for Train Day. This is right in front of our new Ashland Main Street Office located at 210 S. Railroad Avenue. Look for our sign this week!

Train Day Founder & Chairman Honored
Join us at the CSX Stage at 11am on Train Day to honor Ashland Train Day founder - Librarian Cathy Bach-McElroy. In addition we will recognize Jim Donlon - Train Day Chairman from 2004-2012. We are very grateful to their dedication and creativity!
Katie Kisner (left) from CSX met with Train Day Chairman - Bill Gatewood and Rosie Shalf, President of the Ashland Museum and Tom Wulf, Executive Director of Ashland Main Street Association to tour the Red Caboose & discuss the History Museum's latest exhibit on Morse Code. CSX brought goodies to share with our Train Day patrons and will have a special program called Operation Lifesaver at 11am at the CSX Stage. We are so grateful to CSX for being our signature sponsor and providing this educational program for Ashlanders!
Civil War History Mobile will be at the Visitor's Center all day! Tour an authentic Red Caboose at the Ashland Museum! While you are there check out their newest exhibit "Ashland Reborn: 1865 to 1899". The String-Tyme Minstrels & the dancers of the 12th Virginia Infantry will perform in period costumes! Book signings at the museum: James Scanlon for his books on Randolph-Macon and Bentley Boyd of Chester Comix will be signing his historic comic books. In addition - Donna Deekens & Doug Riddell will sign their book "Virginia's Legendary Santa Trains" in front of the Iron Horse Restaurant - a historic location!
