Greetings from the blessed country of Cambodia! I want to take this special opportunity to write to you all and bring you up to date on the recent happenings here. :-) As many of you know, a few years ago, we began a building/facilities transition where we had to move from our previous rented facility. At that time, we discovered that there were not any suitable, for rent, properties in our area, for our growing church. We looked into buying a permanent property to build our own building on. At that time, we found that property prices were to high, and time too short. We felt that God revealed to us a good strategy to meet the needs of the growing church. We were to move forward in 3 phases.
The first phase consisted of leasing a bare piece of property and constructing a warehouse-style, inexpensive, temporary facilities for the church. We did this in November of 2012 and moved into the constructed facilities in March of the following year.
The second phase of the plan was to buy property on the outskirts of the city where the development hadn't yet reached, to provide for a permanent home after the 7-year lease was up on the temporary facilities. This allows us to buy property at a much cheaper price and then wait a few years for the development to reach that area, at which time it would be a suitable location to build a church.
A few months ago, we found the perfect property for this next step. The owners were in need of some quick cash and so they were willing to sell for a good price. God has miraculously provided for this huge step. Even at a good price, the total cost of the land will be $155,000.We have already raised $147,000, including some savings and investments we did as a church, as well as a pledge promise offering that we raised immediately from our congregation. We have also had $22, 000 promised from international partners already. We are now only lacking $8000! But we need this $8000 within a week. We are getting down to the wire on our deadline.
So we would like to ask you to pray about taking action. If all our friends and partners would each be willing to give, maybe, $50 through our online giving button, we could meet this remaining deficit and secure the property for the church! Would you consider doing this?
Thank you for your generous investment in the Kingdom of God through our church!
