Dear Doctors,

Happy Easter to you and your medical practice! How fast this year is flying by…
Easter is a timely reminder to the danger of fatigue and sleep disorders when driving on our roads.  Fatigue is a non-discriminative silent killer. According to the latest Queensland road toll weekly report (March 2013) fatigue related mortality has increased 10% between 2007/2008, and 2012/2013, despite an overall reduction in ‘all fatalities’ by 7%. Undiagnosed sleep disorders increases the risk of fatal motor vehicle accidents 6-fold. As doctors we need to be vigilant and screen for undiagnosed patients with sleep disorders.
We would like to thank you for your continued support and wish you and your team a safe and relaxing Easter.
In this month's edition...

    • Driving tired is like driving drunk
The potentially deadly implications of driving while sleepy and what we need to be aware of this holiday season.
    • High Dose Vitamin D to treat RTI's
      An alternative to antibiotics?
    • The Sleepless Wait For the Easter Bunny
What we need to know about behavioural sleep disorders in children.
    • A New Vision From the ERS
The latest vision on respiratory healthcare from the European Respiratory Society.
    • Provent to Prevent SDB?
Is Provent a valid option for the treatment of sleep disordered breathing?

We hope you enjoy this edition and welcome your feedback. You can email the editor with any feedback or suggestions for both articles and news at editor@tsgq.com.au. - The Editor
