A focus on paradoxical insomnia
Also known as subjective insomnia or sleep state misperception, paradoxical insomnia is the discrepancy between objective measures (electroencephalogram, EEG) and subjective reports of sleep latency and total sleep time. Interpreting Spirometry
Spirometry is a great basic tool for diagnosing and managing respiratory disease. However, clinical context of the test is also important because parameters in patients with mild disease can overlap with values in healthy persons. Normal spirometry values may vary, and interpretation of results relies on the parameters used. read more

Thoracic & Sleep Group News

TSGQ presented a wonderful exhibit at the Australiasation Sleep Association conference in Darwin this year. With over 500 attendants, the converence attracted not just representitives form the national industry but also leading researchers from as far away as France.

Some of the The Thoracic and Sleep Group (Queensland) scientific and nursing team attended this years conference, gaining valuable insights into the movement of the sleep industry and the abundance of new research being conducted within the industry. The Thoracic and Sleep Group (Qld) presented updates on sleep disorders and it’s effects on subspecialty areas including cardiac medicine, psychiatry, endocrine medicine including diabetes, driving and occupation medicine, and neurological disorders.

Also on show was TSGQ itself as we are looking to attract more physicians to help in our expanding business.
